Though great blockbusters are easy to come by individually, it seems that making a legitimately and consistently entertaining series of films is getting increasingly difficult. When it comes to the film medium, the general rule is that the first in a series is the best and the follow-ups pale in comparison but this modern Planet of the Apes trilogy subdues that idea by providing a series in which each successor is better than what came before—it's truly impressive, and something that goes a long way in creating what is arguably the best film trilogy since Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy or Edgar Wright's anthological Cornetto Trilogy. These movies are the complete package with stirring narritives, great characters, eye-popping visual effects, heart-string-tugging moments, thought provoking themes, and memorable music. Strangely enough this is all pulled off with a largely different cast in each film, yet every movie contains characters you still manage to care about despite the attachments you may feel to the prior inhabitants. If I was to rate these films individually, I'd say they're something along the lines of: •Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 8.5/10 •Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 9/10 •War for the Planet of the Apes - 9.75/10 Highly recommend for anyone that has an interest in gritty, yet grounded sci-fi media.

The 4k format is crisp and so clear you swear it's real. Great storyline and acting. Recommend!
