    OK for the price

For the price, it's decently well designed and constructed. I can't honestly fault it for becoming uncomfortable when worn for hours at a time: it's cheap. But I can fault the volume control on the cord because I very often lose a channel while dialing the volume up and down. Sometimes it comes back if I squeeze the box, sometimes I have to leave it too loud or quiet just to have both channels.

Thank you for your honest review.

It is not normal for one of the channels to stop working while adjusting the volume from the headset's cord, this might indicate there is a wiring problem with the volume controller on your unit and we'd recommend a replacement.

Perfect in every way! I was listening to music with them and they were great! The bass was great! The sound was so good, as I was listening to music, I thought I heard someone sing and it turns out it was the sound quality! It was great!

    Good while it lasted.

Purchased at november 2010 and broke today. After checking reviews today, found out it have durability issue. Lesson learned, should have check review before go and purchase it. Might wanna stay away if you plan to use this more than 4 months or if you lucky, you can get a full year!! Use this to game such as L4D and use it with skype. Mic quality good at first but somehow it went down drastically. At first, people can hear you clearly and now i have to scream/raise my voice up to allow them to hear what i said. Overall, great to use as headphone when it work but expected to break in a few months or so.

They were good for the price until....

I've only owned this headset for a few months now and the right channel is already cutting out on me. I'd look into getting them replaced but the maximum audio level for these was pretty subpar to begin with. I figured they weren't too bad for the ($33) I paid for them, but not worth the hassle to replace them and have them fail again.

These headphones were exactly what I was looking for at the time. The only thing is that they were kinda obtrusive when you are trying to video chat.

    Not As Good As USB

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Typically I would give Plaintronics a good rating. However, this model has replaced the USB version that used to be carried int he store, for about the same price. They are at best, average. The USB ones were better all around and had less issues than the analog ones. It also does not come with a USB converter which would have given it a much higher rating. I ended up giving this set to my kids who complain about its quality for their gaming.

Headset - Sound into Ear is GREAT!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Microphone SUCKS! Line input all the way up in the PC and on the line - Mic right in front of my mouth - and others say my voice is so faint that cannot hear me for all practical purpose. Descriptions are: like you are in a room with the door closed; far away sounding; I see you talking but I can't hear you. Worst 20 dollars ever spent - go with Logitec - they always work...

    Waste of Money

    Posted .

So after reading several reviews, I decided to buy this headset because it had overall good reviews and the price wouldn't break the bank. When I got home, I plugged them in and tested it out on Vent. At first, all people heard was static and I tried testing the mic on Sound Recorder and it didn't pick up anything at all. Once I fiddled around with the properties, people were finally able to hear me on Vent but they said I sounded very muffled and there was static in the back. Not only is the mic quality poor, the sound quality is just as bad. If I'm not listening to anything (like while surfing the web) there is a low static sound. It was getting so annoying that I actually had to remove the headset until I found some music or video to play just to cancel out the noise. I use integrated sound, so I guess the reason for all my problems is just that. I'm returning this thing today and getting a USB headset, hopefully that will solve everything. Do not buy if you do not have a good sound card!

    Cheap but worthless product

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This product looks fairly decent on the first look. Though after owning the headset for 2 weeks I can say they are not worth the buy. After about 20-30 mins of using them my ears would already start to hurt. They put a ton of pressure on your full ear. The pads are fairly hard (have no comfort to them). Nothing was wrong with the mic sound quality. The speaker sound quality was poor. They had no real power to them, only sounding quiet at the best of times. The built in wire volume control was absolutely horrible. One would expect turning the wheel all the way down would turn off the sound. (or) At least make any sound they produce barely audible, nope. The full range of sound level was from slightly quiet to about "normal" at max volume.

I use this primarily for making cell phone calls. I just wanted something inexpensive. The sound quality was fair at best. The wire where it enters the headset broke after 5 months leaving me with sound in one ear.

The sound quality on analog headphones is vastly dependent on the audio source, we recommend that you test your headset on a different PC or a mobile device to see if you have the same results. If you need a microphone for Ventrilo, DO NOT BUY

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As the title states, if you need a mic and are using it for Ventrilo, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! people cannot hear me at all despite me turning my outbound up as well as other turning me up. There is some type of fan noise that is ALWAYS louder than my speaking even if I scream into it. The sound quality is poor and is poor at picking up my own voice. I opened 2 ventrilo's to test it out and this mic is absolutely awful. Good for headphones though but definitely not for 30 dollars.
