It could be that I'm not doing it properly, but the device came with ZERO instructions, other than an abstract, utterly useless, illustration.

It's not the most cofrontable to wear all day. Well after 15 mins it started to hurt my ear. Maybe a aftermarket eargel would be worrh your while.
