    This is a fairly standard UV filter. There's some (very, very) slight cloudiness with mine, but it wasn't noticeable until I took a long, long look at a photo without it and a photo with it. It vanished in post, so I'm fine with this filter.

    I use some sort of lens filter for all my lens. it is used mostly for protection of the main lens glass.
