lets be honest, you don't need to protect your camera from UV rays, but you do need protection on the front of your lens. put a layer between elements and you lens

Nothing to compare it to really - it fits my 85mm Canon lens perfectly, was affordable, and works the way it's supposed to, protecting my lens :) I recommend it.
