I bought this to protect the forward element of a Nikon AF-S 70-200 f/2.8 VRII lens on a trip to Hawaii. It does what it's supposed to do, which is keep sand, dust, and moisture off of the lens. Wasn't too expensive, either. Thin profile ring would make this fine for use on a wideangle, too.

This filter fits the lens very well and is of good quality.

Great filter for the price. Always put a UV filter on any lens I buy to keep the original glass from getting scratched. Cheaper to replace a filter than a lens.

A must have to protect the front element of your lens. The compact profile of this lens reduces vignetting yet provides needed protection and minimizes smudging. Would highly recommend

To filter or not to filter. Some people believe that having a filter amounts to putting a cheap piece of glass in front of your expensive lens. Knowing that I am a klutz I like having that cheap piece of glass in front of the expensive one since I can always replace or swap it out if it gets damaged.

I can´t tell the difference from a picture shot with that filter and without it, so that´s a plus in a UV filter when bought mostly for protection.

Looking for a great lens filter for your expensive lens? Platinum Filters are as good as the expensive ones at a much lower price. These are the only filters I use.

I'm new to photography. I got this to protect my wide angle lens. I had no difficulty attaching it to the lens, and it comes with a nice protective case as well.

Every lens needs protection regardless. This filter is not made of Schott Glass but it is a cheap solution and which will work fine as a temporary fix OR permanent fix for day to day use. Better to scratch this than you lens.

great filter, with no distortion that I have found. We live on the beach and it definitely protects my expensive lens from the salt air and sand.

I have had a couple occasions where a simple UV filter saved my lens. Put one on every lens. This one is simple but the the job completely
