Very rarely do I find equipment that function as well as original Apple equipment. This would be one of those items. The 8' cable is heavier than the original charger, obviously its a higher wattage but I know it is going to last.

It works great, is less expensive than the genuine Apple unit and has the added bonus of two USB 2.0 outputs. Never looked back.

Too hot to charge safely

Although I plugged the iPad into one of the lesser ports, the iPad began to get hot. When charging the Macbook Pro 14inch with the enclosed cord, it charged well - not as quickly as the original Apple charger - BUT the charger (not the cord) was so hot that I thought it might burst or melt from all the heat. I was oven-mitt-hot when I went to unplug it. I returned it because I didn't want to damage anything.

The USB-A ports are "weak"

For this purpose, the USB-C port works well. The reason for the 3 stars is that the USB-A ports won't fast charge my phone. The specs on the included data sheet spell it out: single port: 5V/1.2A both ports: 5V/1.6 A max Thus if you want to provide a fast charge, you'll need to use the USB-C port. I have a similar, but lower powered one from Anker that is sufficient for a 13" laptop, but isn't sufficient for a 15". However, it's USB-A port will fast charge my phone. Like the Anker, this unit's prongs for plugging into an AC receptacle can be folded into the unit when not in use, which is a nice convenience.

It’s super convenient and nice because you don’t have to have several wall outlets available. ESP if you’re traveling.
