very handy portable storage for on the go with lots of space

I purchased this flash drive to replace an old Sandisk 1GB drive I've had for years. This drive was on sale at the store for $54.99, which is an awesome price. To my disappointment, the flash drive is EXTREMELY slow. I've tried it on several computer to be sure it's not my hardware causing the issue. The transfer rate of files ranges between bytes/s and MB/s. The drive cannot keep a consistent transfer rate. It's rated for USB 2.0, which is probably why it was on sale, but the average transfer rate is below 50KB/s, making it extremely poor for storing and deleting anything on the drive. I've tried changing the filesystem (came formatted as FAT32), but neither NTFS or exFAT was able to help. DO NOT BUY.

It works fine. It is dependable. It is fast in data transfer.

Good memory stick for back up information. Only issue has been ability to fit easily in my USB port on my new computer.

I purchased the USB drive to use as a boot drive, but it would not register in the CMOS of the computer as an external device or as a hard drive. As a storage device it works fine.

It did what it’s supposed to do. Haven’t had that long so hopefully it last long.

In working order but slow at times. For larger files, I would recommend backup plus instead.

Brought this as an birthday gift for my self love it while it was working one day while pulling out of the computer the aluminum part was stuck in the computer exposing the 4 pones hope that pny replace it

wish it is usb3 with this price.. that would be decent. well, usb2 isn't bad either for $50 bucks. holding up ok so far.

Great storage for school work and photos. Should have gotten a bigger one but this works great.

I bought this to be able to conveniently back up my PlayStation 3, instead of using a clunky fragile external drive. It works, with one major problem: It takes 21 hours (almost a full day) to back up 80GB! An external drive connected to the same USB connection takes only an hour or two.

At the price, could not pass up such a great deal.

I didn't pay enough attention to the few bad reviews about speed and I should have. I have over 10 usb keys of various sizes and brands and this is the slowest by far. I'm not impatient and I don't demand huge speed from my electronics, but 10 minutes to transfer 113 mb (comprising 3000 small files) is not acceptable. All my other usb can do it in 2 minutes and they are all 2.0. Just to erase 9 GB to return the stick tomorrow, it took 14 minutes! I don't know what the problem is. Is it that the few of us who are complaining about speed got lemons or are other customers happy waiting forever to get their stuff transferred? I'm leaving this review to let you know that this problem can happen (whether all usb keys have it or not) so be aware that you might encounter it too. I got this product at a huge discount. But even at $19.99 it's a horrible price for such a slow speed.
