Ok for simple file transfer but not for media

The write time is ok. Copying and pasting files is par for USB 3.0/3.1 standards. But every time I try to play back audio or video media, I have issues. Most of the time it is choppy as if I was using dial up internet to stream. Sometimes, QuickTime and VLC will not even begin playing the file.

SLOW beyond belief. Seriously don't bother.

I have 2 year old flash drives that are faster than this one. I had it plugged into a USB 3.0 port on a Mac Mini and it took about 20 minutes to move a 4GB file. I also tried to move a bunch of small mp3 files and that also took too long. Looking at the other reviews, I see that the speed is a common complaint. I honestly don't know if files can be read at a faster rate but it's really irrelevant. If the flash drive basically writes at USB 2 speeds, I would never have a need to use it. I know PNY used to have a great reputation but I think I'll go back to using Sandisk flash drives. I returned this item.
