Good RAM for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to upgrade my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, and since this was on clearance and got good reviews, I thought I would give it a shot. The first pair that I got was DOA, and since Best Buy doesn't carry this item in stores near where I live and I had to send it back and order a new set, all of which, with stock issues, took an additional two weeks, which was rather annoying. The second pair that I got worked so I am able to use them. My MacBook Pro can use them at their full capacity and there is a noticeable jump in speed from the two 4GB sticks I had before. I haven't tried overclocking them, but considering the price, and possible quality, of the RAM it's probably not a good idea to overclock them too much.

Good memory for Mac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used this to max out my Mac Mini's (2012) memory to 16GB. Even though the first one I bought had a dead stick, after I returned it and got a new one everything worked great!

Performance jump on my Dell XPS 17
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Dell XPS 17 had only 4GB RAM and was slow of course. I was ready to put it out to pasture, but decided to try upgrading the memory on it, especially since the MEMORY PRICE was SO GREAT! Well, that was money WELL SPENT! My laptop performance increased so much it went from painful to pleasant.

Good Price - Easily Available
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to upgrade you late 2012 Mac Mini this is the RAM for you. Not sure why people complain about the price as it is reasonable and as good as anywhere else. PNY makes good RAM (always did) Also installed a SSD hard drive and this computer screams.

Three bad pairs - test THOROUGHLY.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this RAM for my 2012 Mac Mini in November. As soon as it was installed, I started encountering random kernel panics and other various oddities. It took me about two months to figure out it was the RAM causing the problem. One of the sticks failed the Apple Diagnostics Short Test. I mailed the ram to PNY per their RMA instructions, at my expense. I sent it Priority Mail (Oregon to NJ - 2 - 3 days). They sent it UPS ground (5 - 7 days). After about a month of using the replacement RAM, the kernel panics started again. Ran the Apple Diagnostics, and sure enough, one of the sticks was bad. I contacted PNY to ask them to pay for return shipping this time, and they agreed - UPS ground both ways this time, Oregon to NJ. I installed the third pair, and it passed the short diagnostic test (ran it as soon as I installed it). After a few weeks, I was having problems again. Ran a short diagnostics, and it passed. Ran an extended diagnostics, and it failed. That's three pairs of memory! For the record, I had the original Apple memory (4gb total) and another pair of slightly slower but compatible ram (8gb) total, and they both passed extended tests, so I knew it wasn't the Mini. THANKFULLY, Best Buy let me return the RAM for store credit almost six months from the date of purchase. I try to buy everything I can locally, and BB is the best option for electronics. This is the only reason I purchased this RAM instead of something from Crucial or another RAM vendor. I know I'll use the store credit for something else. In the mean time, I purchased 16gb of Crucial RAM from another popular .com website, and it passed an extended test with flying colors. Obviously not ALL PNY RAM is bad, but I would strongly recommend running an EXTENDED RAM test on their memory anytime you upgrade (this is generally good advice for any RAM upgrade, but in my 3\3 experience, particularly necessary here).

Not for Macbook Pro 2012
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im giving this a 3-Star, but not because it's bad memory, simply because it is not compatible with a 2012 Macbook Pro. If you want Mac compatible RAM for the 2012 Macbook Pro, then purchase the Corsair Apple Certified 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR3L 1600MHz (PC3 12800) Memory CMSA16GX3M2A1600C11 kit - Corsair matches the voltage and timing precisely. I would still recommend this memory to a friend, just not to a friend with a 2012 Macbook Pro ;)

Excellent Ram and super fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this RAM for my macbook pro (early 2011, i5 2400) and works perfect as it also read as 1600mhz ddr3 16GB RAM on my macbook pro, i was worried about this because i read on apple website my model can handle till 1333mhz but i installed it and its just working as 1600 mhz without any issue and did the RAM benchmark test and result came up extremely good. buy this if you want need it...

Works great in my Alienware Alpha
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best bang - performance gains now is SSD drive vs. standard drive and bumping memory to max. Processors not as much as they used to be - cheap bang for your buck improvement in your computer to max it to 16gb. Works great in my alienware alpha with Windows 10.

Not for 2012 Mac Mini i5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this set 3 times for a mac mini 2.5 ghz i5 before I gave up. First set installed and the computer turned on, then gave a kernel panic, then would not turn on again. Installed old ram set and all is well. Exchanged memory for same thing thinking I got a bad set. 2nd pair installed and computer worked as expected. I ran apple hardware test (press "d" at boot) and than came back saying that the ram was bad with errors. Exchanged again at best buy, installed ram and same result as my first pair (initial boot into OS X, then a no boot condition). Returned for good. Will never purchase PNY memory again. For those of you that have purchased this for a mac and say it "works great", did you run apple hardware test? I'm willing to bet its going to tell you that your memory has errors.

Dead on Arrival
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this RAM to install in my Mac Mini, I installed the RAM and the Mac would not boot. I figured out one of the chips was bad. I went to the Best Buy where I had purchased it just a few days ago and they said they didn't have the item anymore and I would have to return it for credit and then order online. I was very disappointed because now I have to wait 5-7 days for the RAM. Needless to say I ordered crucial RAM from somewhere else and it arrived the next day and worked as expected.

Returned this immediately
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was upgrading my Macbook Pro from 8gb to 16gb. Rather than buy premium memory online, I opted to go to my local Best Buy and this was literally the only 16gb package in store. The package was even marked "Mac compatible." When I installed this memory, my computer would operate for 2-3 minutes before bring me to the hardware fault screen (Mac equivalent of the blue screen of death). Hit the hardware fault 15 times in a period of an hour. When I went back to my old Crucial brand memory, life was good again. Please don't buy this product. Spend a few dollars more and buy a quality product.

Went bad in few weeks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All was well for the first three weeks, then the ram caused my 27" 2013 iMac to stop running. I pulled it out and my Mac would start. Then I had to re-format the hard drive and restore from Time Machine. I think the chips went bad. Remember to always save you packaging and ALWAYS backup with Time Machine. I'm taking it back to Best Buy.
