The hollow rectangular end that fits into the computer is all plastic except for the contacts. I fear that the plastic will eventually break.

Purchased a couple of these because of the sales price only. Because this has No LED to indicate in use, it will not be used regularly as I prefer the light showing unit is in use. They will only be used as a backup for some old files I want to keep but rarely use, to clear some clutter off the computer.

I purchased two of these drives. The first one worked fine for a few hours, then I could not access it anymore. It started telling me I could not access it because the drive was locked. Well, there it does not have a lock on it! Attempts to format the drive failed. I returned it for a replacement drive (Sandisk) which cost a bit more. I then opened the second drive, which worked for a few days. Boy did I make a mistake! It locked up as well after I had transferred a few gigs of data onto it. I returned that one to the store and they gave me a deal this time on a replacement Sandisk (after *nicely* requesting it because of my trouble and loss). I was told others have been returning them as well. Great... PNY makes fine RAM but a big FAIL with these drives.

I picked this one up on a BF deal. Price is good for a 16GB flash drive. Speed is pretty fast for a usb 2.0 drive. I have been using it to store video on my Wd Player. Bad thing is the plastic near the usb port side is so flimsy it cracked. No way can I give 5 stars to a product that cracks so easily. Anybody with tight usb ports watch out.

This flash drive seems to work well in the computer, but the cover is difficult to open and very, very difficult to close.

It's what you want from a flash drive except theplastic housing on the plug itself split on all 4 corners and you have to be real careful putting it in. The one I prefer is the all metal PNY that is hinged and has a metal clip to keep on key ring. The only problem with that one is I can lose it if I set it on my messy desk. and it is on clearance for $14.95 right now .

This is the slowest flash drive I've used. It can NOT be used for ReadyBoost, and the write speed is about 5.64MB/sec. Not sure if it's very reliable either, some files were corrupt when I tried to open them from this drive more than once. I think this product is defective. Not just the one I have, the whole line. Spend a few more dollars and get a decent drive.

As expected, it came with 14.9gb available storage. However, what I didn't expect was that after putting some files on it, then when attempting to transfer those files to another computer, that it would display as if there were no files on the flash drive. It would show "0 bytes" in free space and used space. Yes I removed the flash drive safely and let the computer install the driver the first time I used it. Now when it displays 0 bytes, I have to remove it, then replug it in, and MAYBE it will display the files correctly. It displays 0 bytes more than half the time I try it. Totally unreliable. Also I tried to fill it up to the full 14.9gb capacity, but it seems to not be able to hold more than 8gb - after that it just says that the file I'm trying to transfer doesn't exist. Now I see why these are being sold at a discount price.

I bought two because of the $9.99 sale price. This is the first 16GB thumb drive I've ever had, so perhaps that's the reason these frikkin' devices are too slow to ever deal with. I have a brand new Dell XPS computer, and all other thumb drives I have work at the desired transfer speed. But these two PNY 16GB drives are nowhere near as fast. I have to wait a minute to transfer a file that would take less than a second with any other drive. Transferring a folder??? Fuh-get-about-it!!!! They now sit in a drawer, forgotten forever. (For the price I paid for them, it's not worth trying to exercise a refund, and besides, I feel a bit bad for the troubles Best Buy has been experiencing this past year or so.)

I used my flash drive multiple times a day and I bought this in August, 2014. It's January and the flash drive is already broken on the USB entry side. It's very brittle plastic, almost too much for something that should get that much use. Needs to be made of metal to last.

I regulary copy multi meg files as abackup at work. A 500 MB file takes a rediculous amount of time.

Actually I have never seen a flash drive this slow. I got a real education on flash drives with this purchase.
