Who doesn't need a few flash drives around the house? Can't ever find one when I need one, so I picked up a couple of these at my local best buy. They aren't the fastest, or the largest capacity, but they are good for sneaker-net'ing files between computers.

I was initially excited about the price. I picked it up from my local store and once I get home realize it won't even fit! I have a macbook pro and it won't fit in either USB port. What a disappointment.

I used this to replace my 8 GB drive I've used with my Sony BluRay for over a year. I figured I needed a higher capacity. So I bought this in June and used it twice on the BluRay watching videos I put on it from the computer. Last night, pffffft, nothing. The BluRay ignored the drive, yet the red light was on. Windows doesn't recognize the drive enough to open the files or do a reformat. It just says Removable Disk. No wonder it was $20 at the store. (It's now $50). Stay away.

For the price, it does the job. It isn't the fastest flash drive money can buy, but for the price I'm not complaining. It comes with a free movie download, too.

this is the slowest usb 2 flash drive ever made

This drive is awful in fact all PNY flash drives are bad. USB 2.0 is an ANTIQUATED specification when USB 3.0 has been the standard for 2 years at least now. This drive as well as the 16 GB version of it as well took 1 hour to copy 2 video files that were a total of 6.55 GB. BUT by comparison I have a 32GB Patriot Memory USB 3.0 flash drive that copied the entire 6.55 GB in less them 90 seconds NOT an HOUR like this PNY flash drive does. PNY write speed 2.5 MB -3.5 MB per second Patriot drive is 50MB-70MB a second. My pc is a Core I7 Ivy Bridge cpu with 16GB of ram, Nvidia 780 GT graphics card, and 20+TB of hard drive space so it isn't the pc that is slow it is this poor quality PNY flash drive that is. Why does Best Buy continue to carry these poor quality slow drives instead of USB 3.0 drives?

    Not as pictured

What you get is not what is pictured. You get a capless drive instead. I don’t like the new capless drive. It does not protect the contact area as well as a cap does. Why PNY changed a perfect design for an inferior one, I don’t know. It must be an attempt to copy what other brands are doing for the people who have trouble loosing things. I’m disappointed.

    Doesn't Work with VISTA

Hey I'm no VISTA fan but all my other USB drives work great under VISTA. I tried everything I know and it will not recognize this drive. It works on an XP box but don't try it if you are running VISTA. Sent PNY a support email and have not heard anything. Searched all over for solution and the only one I've found is to return it to Best Buy for a refund.

I wish I can return it but I really needed the flash drive because my old flash drive ran out of space and I already gave the old driver away.
