Customers are saying

Customers praise the CS1100 480GB SSD for its speed and performance improvements, leading to significantly faster boot times and overall system responsiveness. The ample storage capacity is also frequently highlighted as a benefit, along with its affordability. While some users found installation slightly challenging, the positive feedback on performance and value outweighs this minor drawback.

    Shockingly Good Upgrade!

My son is going off to college, and my options were to buy him a new machine or upgrade his 4 year old MacBook Pro. I decided to give this a try since the worst thing that could happen is that it wouldn't be enough of a speed bump, and I'd still buy him a new machine and then give this one to his younger sister. Not only was this alone sufficient to make the machine act like a new one, but it is now the fastest machine in the house! I returned to Best Buy to purchase two more. I'll be installing one tonight and one tomorrow. If you are not using a SSD in your machine yet, the prices are finally such that you should be!

Good Amount of SSD Space for a Good Price

My laptop boots up MUCH faster now. I avoided the upgrade for a while because I had a 500 GB drive in it, but for this price I decided to go for it. Glad I did. The system is way more responsive and boots in a few seconds. Also saves battery. It just works. Get it.

    Sped system up dramatically.

Gaming System i7/2.67ghz/6GB RAM/Nvidia GTX770: Norton Security loads options menu as fast as the desktop, which used to take 20-40 seconds to load after the desktop appeared. HitMan Pro finishes in 1/2 the time. Computer boot-up is about 20 seconds. COD Black Ops II loads faster and is much smoother than before. COMPLAINT: no included cloning software, not even a link to any software. But, cloning itself was flawless using Acronis True Home utilities. I will be putting the same drive in my work system this weekend.

Excellent article on prep prior to transferring OS and programs. Performance is amazing -- fastest my PC has booted and called programs up since I bought it.

I had bought a Crucial SSD for my laptop but had constant booting problems with it. I bought the PNY on sale and used Acronis to clone my original drive. I have had the PNY 480 Gig for 3 weeks now and no problems at all. It boots in less than 15 seconds from power on to being able to use. Great SSD for the price.

This one comes with no cloning software and no cables. It's inexpensive and fast and does the job, just factor in that you may need to purchase an extra cable, and source some cloning software.

This ssd works great and as expected. I picked this up from BB on sale. This is the single greatest upgrade I've ever done to a computer -- even moreso that upgrading RAM in my opinion.

Normally I purchase Samsung SSDs but I was in a hurry and this was the only one locally available so I took the plunge. It works well, but is not the fastest. As far as stability, I've had it for almost a year and have had no problems with it so far. I do recommend it if you get it for a good price but at the time of this review, there are many other models that are better and cheaper.

This SSD is not one of the quickest in the world but it is potent as an upgrade if you are leaving behind a 2.5" SATA III HDD. Makes a world of difference in noise, heat, and battery life! Going to buy another soon!

This is a fantastic drive! I highly recommend PNY products in your DIY builds. Using this with a Gigabyte z97-UD5H-BK, and it was one of the easiest builds ever. Speedy, quiet, and reliable drives.

This ssd did what I hoped it would do and more. Revived a 5 year old Dell XPS laptop that took 20 minutes to boot up. After the upgrade, boot up is less than 10 seconds. No joke.

SSD is the most amazing upgrade you can do to your PC, this simple upgrade can take a basic PC, and turn it into a super star. I've upgrade 2 separate systems with this drive now. Boot times are insanely fast, and over all performance blows its old style spinner out of the water (all with an i3).

I wanted to speed up my work laptop and still have plenty of memory available. It's a great value when considering the price along with the fact that it's an SSD and with plenty of space.

SSDs are VERY fast and effect. When ever I work on someones computer, the first thing I do is upgrade it to an SSD. This one works very well for the price.

Use this as a main drive in a PC running windows 10. All data is stored on a separate 3tb drive. I've been running this for about a year now with no issues at all. Boot up time is around 23 seconds.

SSd's are all the rave these days. I got mine on sale.. It seemed quick at first, I imaged my 500GB HDD partition and just copied it over - something your not supposed to do... remember to properly allign your sectors if you go this route or you will get errors gallore! MY CPU fan died - didnt realise it, and ended up reinstalling windows 7 thinking it was a problem with windows 7... FAIL Anyways, fixed the CPU fan, reinstalled windows 7... I honestly can not say this drive is any faster than the HDD it replaced. Instant boot times? Its marginally faster than the HDD. I timed it, from pushing the button on the tower to a USABLE desktop is over 52 seconds. on my HDD its 1 minute 8 seconds. I wouldnt call that 'fast' Ofcourse new installs are always fast, use the PC for a month then compare... PC Specs: Intel 3570 32GB G Skill Ram 480 PNY SSD Seagate 3TB External (I swear my external is faster than this ssd) 970GTX 1300 watt PSU Could there be a problem with the drive? Perhaps.. doesnt matter though as according to PNY's RMA Process you had better have the receipt, the box, the tape that was attached to the box, and the bag it came in from the store, before they will even THINK about issuing an RMA... what a joke.
