If you need a good cheap drive to speed up an in-laws old slow computer/laptop then this drive works well. I personally like the samy evo drives for my own systems, but they are double the money.

My laptop boots under 7 seconds. My spreadsheets and office products execute in lightenning speed. Great product.

I installed this as a Linux Mint boot drive running Sarah for my home 7th Gen iCore. With a few command line induced adjustments to reduce unnecessary writes, it's up and running the system with dead silent, lightening fast boot times. Study up on what you need to do to set up a Linux box for use with an SSD. If you don't, I can't speak to it's longevity. Search engines will reveal the path. If you don't like or understand using the command line, stick with a platter.

You can see the difference in performance right away, my laptop now processes everything at a faster speed, awesome!

This is very compact and starts up in seconds. It is easy to use just plug and play. Great external storage unit.

The real test of any off-the-shelf brand name SSD is not really speed, because they're almost always replacing spindle drives and there's no competition. Between SSDs there are some read-write differences on paper but for the most part Joe Average won't notice any difference on his $200 refurb laptop. The real test will be in 5-10 years when people start worrying about lifespan issues. Bought 4 of these to run VMware nodes and upgrade an old lappy, have had only good experiences with PNY. Unless any of them burst into flames I will probably buy them again assuming Best Buy can keep them on shelves which historically seems to be a challenge; are these being obsoleted?

Bought it for my new asus book. Easy replacement, the notebook is as fast as a +500USD one. Excellent disk.

I purchased this SSD for my 10 year old Dell PC. Having used SSDs and fusion drives for my Apple iMac and MacBook Pro, my PC was feeling extremely sluggish. I use the SSD in combination with the original 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive. Installing the OS and software on SSD, it makes the Dell extremely faster than when I first purchased the Dell 10 years ago. I also own the equivalent SSD from SanDisk, but the speeds are not that great. This one is the one to buy!

After buying the 240GB of this same SSD for my laptop, I decided to buy the 120GB model for a spare laptop, an aging Dell D630. It has made a drastic improvement in the responsiveness of this machine. Boot times are seconds vs. minutes. Launching applications are almost instantaneous. If you have an older laptop that you are thinking of replacing because it is too slow, you owe it to yourself to replace the HDD with this SSD. You will be amazed.

This is the first SSD I have ever owned, it has been a year since I bought this at the time of writing this review. I have had ZERO issues with this drive, it performs very well, has had the Operating system re-installed several times and is now acting as my boot drive as well as the home for macOS High Sierra for my hackintosh. It is probably one of the best drives I will ever own.

The software you get to clone your hard drive works perfect. I cloned mine in 15 min. You will need to go online "YouTube" and watch videos on how to set it up perfectly. Since SSD aren't the same as a normal hardrive you'll have to tweak some settings in windows to get the best performance out of it and to make it last longer. It's simple don't worry. My boot time went from 2min 37sec to 33sec. Amazing!!
