Great affordable SSD.
I like to use these give a little more life to older PCs. Windows 10 PCs especially need SSDs in them. Its amazing what a performance difference you'll see with SSDs like this one.

Bought a couple of these on a Deal of the Day for $19.99. Even if you have a slimline computer that has no room to add another hard drive, you can fit one of these somewhere in the case with either double-sided tape or a small piece of velcro and use it as a boot drive to speed up an older computer. In the package, it includes a link and serial number for Acronis True Image Data Migration Software.

This drive and the 240GB model are definitely the best bang for your buck. Especially if they're on sale. Are they as good as the competition? Nah. They won't outperform or outlast an 860 Evo, or even a SanDisk Ultra. But they'll perform more than half as good, and they'll last more than half as long. So if you can get it for half the price and it fits your intended use, this is the one you want. I bought this and a 240GB last year (which are both still going strong) and just bought another of each when I caught a sale.

I put it into an old and slow laptop with i5 4210U and 4 GB of RAM and reset the Windows 10 to clean install. Makes it run like new again. I ran the Crystal disk mark after that. Very close to the claimed max read and write speeds (515 and 490 mbps).

The PNY CS900 120GB SSD is an amazing solid state! It has improved my startup speed from and HDD by over 3x!! It is also extremely quiet, so quiet that it doesn't sound like that laptop is on. Applications also startup way faster and is a great HDD replacement or an extra drive to speed up system speed with a great price! This SSD gets a 10/10.

I was actually in a bind repairing a laptop for a family member when I suggested that they upgrade their HD to a SSD. This by far was the best solution to breath life into an MacBook. Boot times went from 30-45 seconds down to 10. Its a very reliable drive with decent read and write speeds. Its nothing like my awesome Samsung EVO drives but it is a worthwhile solution to those who are on a budget to save an older computer.

There's now no doubt in my mind that the single, easiest, cheapest way to significantly increase the perceived speed of your computer is to use an SSD as a boot drive. It really feels like a new computer when you do so. Put all of, or just your most used, applications on this drive as well. My computer boot time has changed from over a minute to just a few seconds. Same with opening apps, and saving and opening documents. Once you install one of these you will realize how much of the lag or slowness of your computer was due to seek/access times, and the throughput speed of your hard drive. Also, you will now have no moving parts in your computer. (Except possible, the CPU cooling fan.) And with prices already pretty low and only going lower, installing one of these is a no-brainer.

This product is nothing short of blazing fast. It will bring life into any new or old laptop that has a spindle drive.
While capacity is not its strong suit, being fast (and lets face it, who needs TB of storage on a laptop, as they are more for function rather than storage).
Helps improve battery life too as the data is available almost instantly for the system to process.
The other key factor in this product is the price. Cheapest SSD on the market and with great stability and performance, it is a must buy product for anyone wanting to breath life into an old notebook or PC.

For the price of this SSD it is well worth the performance. 5 stars for that.
Having said this, DO NOT expect the performance of expensive SSDs.
Actual speeds of this SSD are as follows, this is right out of the box, empty SSD. X99| i7-5930K test bench SATA3. I've included screenshots of the benchmarks.
Sequential:
Read | 321
Write | 277
Random IOPS (Internal Operations Per Second):
Read | 46,875
Write | 53,466
Now this is much faster then any HDD for sure, and for the price It's excellent performance.
To my knowledge it does not have a DRAM cache, or controller which is why it's not as fast as the top tier SSDs that cost 2 or 3 times more. add a ram cache in front of this SSD and get thousands of MB/s speeds.
If you need a fast drive at low cost, this is it.
I paid hundreds more for NVME drives, but needed this to run a DayZ Stand Alone Dedicated Server and it gets the job done much faster then the HDD I was using.
I am very happy with this purchase, and the price is unbeatable.

I love SSDs, especially this one. You get full 500MBs speeds with this SSD so it's a great upgrade for any computer. I actually recommend these instead of a new computer to most people because it's usually the hard drive slowing down the computer, not the processor. I also recommend these as a boot drive to people who have high end systems. Use this for Windows and programs and the hard drive that came with the computer as storage for pictures, documents, games, etc. It makes everything feel so much snappier and more responsive. Can't go back to a hard drive after using one of these.

For it’s price, it serves as a perfect boot drive. PNY is a reputable brand as it is, I’ve been using these SSD’s for about 6 months now. They work great and have no problems. It’s speeds are good and it does exactly what it advertises.

I used this to backup my OS from a mechanical drive over USB. It worked upon checking with file explorer, but I didn't boot up from this drive as of yet. I saw all folders expanded with only a few files added beyond factory fresh W/10. I am happy with it. I will boot from it soon to verify. It is a new laptop, so I trust it will work for the next week. Once I stop playing. Price is better than most 128G thumb drives.

This is a small hard drive, but at the time of this writing (4/2020), it's large enough to hold Windows 10, and still have some room to throw all your cat photos, you downloaded off the internet, on to it.
If you're looking to upgrade your computer, you can do this and RAM. Those two upgrades (do this one first) are HUGE. If you have an old hard drive in your laptop, it makes it feel like you're using a computer from the stone age. Once you upgrade it with this, assuming you have enough RAM, you'll feel like you just bought a new computer.
If you want to breath life into your computer, don't plan on loading it up with 5+ graphics intensive, modern games, then this is for sure for you.
I found that in most computers, you can use the media creation tool (from Microsoft), to create the Windows 10 install disk, and put the operating directly on this hard drive, and somehow Microsoft just seems to know you had it previously installed.
Just remember, if you do that, to buy a thumb drive, and copy all your cat videos, cute kid videos you haven't had time to upload to Facebook yet, along with the 10 hours of snoop diggity dog music you have stashed, and hiding, on your old computer, onto that thumb drive, prior to trashing the old hard drive.
You may also want to smash the old hard drive to bits, if you don't know how to do a proper formatting. You wouldn't want the pirates to get a hold of your financials....
This item, much like go faster stripes on a sports car, is the most important upgrade you'll ever make to your aging computer/laptop.

This replaces a stock hard drive inside the Lenovo x140e laptop. And runs much faster than the mechanical hard drive that was inside the unit. I took apart my unit and installed the hard drive in maybe 10 minutes . Windows install maybe took 45 minutes to an hour but it's up and running and working fine. Price of this drive is fantastic and could even keep computers with XP running if you have someone had has the desire to do so but works with all other OS as well. Comes with a serial key for True Acronis software download if you need it (not required if you don't want it) Overall well worth the purchase price to keep a piece of tech going strong.

My computer hard drive died and I needed to reinstall Windows to get it working again. I found the PNY SSD 120gb in stock at my store and ran over to pick it up. The drive is super compact and easy to fit into any space, the setup was simple, and it worked without hassle. Its hard to judge how long it will last but I've had PNY products before and I'm not too worried about it.
