Started off my PC build with just a HDD, then upgraded to SSD to see what the hype was about. My computer starts up instantly, and my programs that i have stored on the SSD are noticeably faster than on HDD. However, transfering your boot files from hdd to sdd is kind of a struggle, so get with a geek squad employee to learn more before just diving in.

I have started switching all my computer drives from HDD to SSD and it makes all the difference in the world! Boot time is seconds, program load time is exponentially faster! I do design and I need the speed and capacity. My efficiency has gone through the roof! Migration is easy with an adapter (sold separately). I love it!

I was in need of a boot drive and this hit the mark. Now i have redundant boot drives on my TrueNAS server and they are FAST! No more waiting forever for it to boot like it did off the USB drives.

If you are looking for something to install your OS on and you do not have a M.2 slow, I would suggest this. If you do not have a M.2 slow and are a gamer, I would suggest the Samsung Evo 850.

Hardest thing about setting up this drive? Was getting the glued shut cardboard box open. Within 5min of having the package open, the drive was installed, and formatted. For $29 it was a great way to add 120GB of additional SSD space to my computer. Perfect for moving my swap file over to, freeing up 16GB on my C drive.

Did you get a brand new PC with shiny hardware, but with a mechanical hard drive? Fret not! With this SSD, you can install windows and use it as your boot drive and use the mechanical hard drive that came on your new PC as storage. Great deal for the amount of memory and price.

My laptop was buggy, freezing up every now and then. I suspected the hard drive was dying even though it was only 2 years old. So along comes this 120GB SSD deal of the day. I couldn't pass it up. After installing this drive, my laptop is fast and reliable. It was a very worthwhile investment.

Overall, it beats a mechanical hard drive all day long. But you have to keep in mind when buying one that the question is, what programs do intend to run? And that will determine how fast the read write speeds on the drive you really need. This drive I bought was the basic due to what apps I run.

Second Drive Good But Had Alot of Write Error's

Second SSD drive I got is good but it had alot of writing error's when using it for a Laptop upgrade when using cloning software, I had alot of trouble with this one I didn't have with the first one I got that is identical to this one, not just the problem with write error's but it was being detected by the BIOS but not being detected by the OS after it was fully loaded, I ruled out interface problems, after first Windows 10 OS installation it showed the wrong capacity of 18GB with 5.38 GB free, that made no sense as it's a 120GB drive, I had to keep using Windows Built-In Partition Tool to manually clean and the Computer Management Disk Manager to manually Initialize, and Reformat the SSD, there were several attempts to transfer operating system copy for an ASUS laptop upgrade using cloning software but the clones kept failing at random points due to the high amount of write error's until the last time which everything went fine after several attempts related to the write error's, end result required 3 re-installation attempts of Windows 10 before the installation held and now shows the correct 120GB storage size. The problems were a bit annoying and I didn't experience this with the first drive I got, and something like this would indicate something such as a defective or early failing drive, and you need to have some advanced knowledge of handling partitions using the command line or a special tool in order to deal with and troubleshoot things like this. At the moment it's working ok now, no write error's now, so I'll keep it unless it completely stops working, but the life of the drive is probably reduced a bit from the steps that were needed to get it to this point and I'm not comfortable with the high write error's it had the first several attempts, I will still probably get another one sometime to do another upgrade later of an old mini-computer. It was a higher price than the first one I got but I would still recommend the drive.

I bought to replace the original hard drive in my ThinkPad T420 which only runs at sata 3 Gbs. The PNY ssd came with Acronis True Image OEM serial number, just download, install and register. Great cloning tool. Boot up with less than 10 second, application open and run faster, smoother. No clicking sound.

I bought 2 of these to replace old/slow HDs in a laptop and a desktop. Both are running MUCH faster now as expected. I've purchased other PNY products in the past and never had any problems. These are the first PNY SSDs I've purchased, but I don't expect any issues with these either. So far, so good.

I really like pny products. Affordable, reliable and they last. I have bought a bunch of these over the years and other brands and I never had an issue with a pny hard drive but I have others that are in the same price range that didn’t last.

Used this SSD to replace my HDD on my laptop. My laptop is 8 years old but just with this replacement it boots as fast as a brand new laptop. Some may worry about the storage size, but with many cloud services and streaming services, the need for massive storage space on a spare computer is no longer needed for me.
