Didn't last long
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a Sandisk SSD that died only to have this one fail even quicker. I purchased it in early September and it didn't even make it to November.

Not recommended for use with SATA I interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer should be aware if you are trying to replace a Sata HD on an older laptop with a SATA I interface. A Sata III SSD in most cases is backward compatible to SATA I and some SSD brands do support it. From PNY website "Current PNY SSD's (2018 and later) will require that you have a Sata II port for normal operation. A Sata I port should not be used as we cannot guarantee its operation in these older systems" ------------- Purchased the SSD, but returned it because of this issue.

Failed after 3 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a failing spinning disk on my MacBook. It worked like a charm up until it died after a little over 3 months of use. I have since had to replace it with another and have not been able to recover anything from the dead drive. For the price, I was ever hopeful this would be an easy and cheap fix for me, but 3 months is a ridiculously short amount of time for this to work.

Died Within 6 Months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First computer component I've had die on me in 3 years of dabbling in custom PCs. When I see reviews like this, I assume the person doesn't know what they're doing, that's not me. Drive can't be initialized, formatted, or recognized by even PNYs own software. Working on an rma so we'll see what happens.

Died within weeks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to upgrade an HDD to an SSD. Ran fine for a few weeks. One day, could not boot up OS. Cannot reformat/reset SSD. Cannot retrieve lost files. I now have a $60 paperweight. Save yourself a headache and go for Samsung EVOs.
