Just download the app and it walks you through the steps to transfer your photos to the drive. I have recommended it to others.

To transfer data off of it - worked on 2 of 3 devices. Yes on iPAD, yes on Lenovo 5, no on desktop (non-apple). Wants me to install some app that would not work on my desktop.

All pictures, videos, contacts were complete, and there was an option to back up more that I did not use. I was then able to transfer photos to my Windows laptop.

Great external storage device!

Then was able to attach the USB to my laptop and transfer said photos to my hard drive. Once I figured out how things worked it was great, but having a user manual would have helped save some time.
