BB was having a sale, think I picked this 32GB up for 7 or 8 bucks. This one has a small, slide protector that locks into closed or open position. Seems solid. Compact and very well designed. Fits easily in pocket, on key ring, or hanging on a hook. PNY makes very good products in my experience.

Great, cheap, fast USB 3.0

Great item. Only downside is dust can get into the male usb connector. Don't blow on it! Moisture from your breath can corrode the contacts, use an air can or blow dryer instead.

Product knowledge: Does a Flash Drive Flash?

I bought the one a cashier clerk brought over to me. However, when saving to it I could not tell or notice because there was nothing flashing. I went back and the sales person told me that some flash and others don't. "Is this written of the packaging?" "No", he said. So, how can I buy a flash drive that I know will actuall flash when saving files, documents I am working on, etc. Do you have to open each package and try in my computer. "Yeah". "Well, don't want to play a guessing game. The flashing of a "Flash Drive" is a feature and selling point, but you can't tell me without openimg the package and giving trial attempts? I just kept what I had originally purchased, but i still had to open the flash and check if my work was actually being saved.

Great Flash Drive

USB 3.0 should be much faster then USB 2.0, although I have not tested it. Also extends its practical life before obsolescence. I really like the case and closing mechanism. It feels very sturdy. I have a SanDisk flash drive and the mechanism sticks and feels cheap. All computers I used recognized this drive immediately. No junk software on the drive I highly recommend it.
