Doesn't quite hit the mark but not too bad.

The gym battles, the journeys from one place to the other, and friendships between Pokemon and trainer; all these things that made the animated series awesome was reletively absent in this film. I know that this film was based more on the Detective Pikachu game than the animated series. It just would've been nice to have the first live-action Pokemon movie feel more like Pokemon.
