Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the Now+ Instant Film Camera Generation 2 for its ease of use, rechargeable battery, timer, and double exposure feature. The camera's retro design and USB-C charging are also appreciated. However, some customers find the camera to be a bit large for carrying around. While some appreciate the flash, others feel the camera quality is not as good as older Polaroid cameras.

Good, but pricey
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember my days as a child and wanting so badly to use my parents’ Polaroid instant camera, but because of the cost of film, that was a rare occasion. Later, I bought one for myself and though the camera is long gone, I still have a few albums of the photos I took. Even when newly taken, they already looked old and faded - that was part of the kitsch. No one really took serious photos with a Polaroid instant camera. We took “snapshots” to save the moment. When I saw this new, modern take on the Polaroid camera, I had to have one! I love the retro-style of this camera. The stripes, large lens and rear viewer remind me of my old original. It uses the same “600” film as my old camera and it loads the same way. The shape is absolutely iconic. The photos it takes are just like what I remember – they come out looking so “retro”. It’s a wonderful flashback to my childhood. This camera has some updates over the Polaroid cameras of 50 years ago. The best upgrades are that there’s no more searching for flash bulbs or batteries because this one has a built-in electronic flash and rechargeable lithium battery. It comes with a USB-C cord for charging, though no charger brick is included, which is a bit of a disappointment given the price. There is a digital counter for shots remaining and an indicator for the internal flash. Instead of a clunky shutter release button, this one has a smooth, modern button along with buttons for power, flash setting and turning on Bluetooth. Yes, this camera has a Bluetooth interface as well as an accompanying phone app. The most useful thing about the app is the remote shutter release. The other functions, like the aperture and exposure controls and even the double-exposure feature offer some creative functions, but honestly, with the “simple” quality of Polaroid photos, these add very little extra to the experience. To me, Polaroid is all about point, shoot and enjoy. If I need to make adjustments, I’ll use a better camera (like the one built-into my phone). After taking a few photos, I was reminded of the challenges of using a Polaroid camera. First of all, it’s a fixed-focus lens, so it uses a fairly small aperture. This means you need a lot of light, and the built-in flash is just barely adequate for indoor photos. Outside in well-lit conditions it does do better. I had also forgotten how long it takes Polaroid film to develop – around 15 minutes. Again, if I want high-quality photos, I’ll use my SLR or even my phone. This Polaroid camera is all about retro and simple fun. And it does deliver on that, just at a high price for its modern upgrades. If this had been less expensive, I might have given it a better rating, but I expected more at this price point.

Great Camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great throw back style camera.. Only reason it's not 5 stars, doesn't come with any film & the film costs $2 a Pic.. Not a throw back price for sure. Lol

Genuine Slice of Nostalgia & Instant Gratification
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How much does a genuinely nostalgic experience cost? The Polaroid - Now Instant Film Camera (Gen 2) gives us an answer. It accurately replicates the look and size of the original, iconic Polaroid cameras - along with much of the experience. And yet, it does that while including some helpful modern features. Along with the two-lens system, it includes a rechargeable battery using a USB-C port. Very convenient. The packaging was simple and easy to open. It includes a paper insert with quick set up instructions which was nice. Overall very easy to use, I inserted the film I purchased and then took a photo. Note: The Polaroid - Now Instant Film Camera (Gen 2) is NOT a camera for any kind of serious photography. It’s strength is the experience it offers: * The (almost) Instant Gratification of holding a printed image in your hand to easily show others and pass around. * The nostalgic feeling of taking a picture today that looks just like an iconic, Polaroid photo you might expect to find in an old shoebox in your parents’ attic. Why 4 stars instead of 5? It does not include film - an unexpected disappointment. It does not mention how long it takes for the film to develop after being ejected from the camera. That's important because you might expose the film too soon. I had to look up that information online. I also thought it wasn't very clear about being careful not to expose the film to any light while developing. With the first photo, when it ejected, I took it out in order to place it face down on a table (which uncovered it from the black protective cover attached to the camera ). That photo didn't seem to fully develop properly, I could see it but it was washed out. For the second photo, I left it attached to the camera so the protective cover stayed on and then put the camera in a dark room. That photo came out better. A genuine slice of nostalgia and instant gratification.

Nostalgia over photo quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera was more of a nostalgic product for me since I just lost my father. It took me back to the days when I remember my dad bringing home the camera with the "magical" film that would let us see our photo's right away. As soon as I took the camera out of the box I was transported back to the early eighties where we had so much joy in taking pictures and waiting for the image to show up. This version of the camera is a little more compact and much lighter Tham the polaroid cameras of yesteryear. This camera has a USB C port to help charge the lithium battery. The camera does require the use of I-type 600 film and unfortunately there is no sample pack included with the camera. The film is also quite expensive based on how many photos you can take so it is definitely something that you would use sparingly. The film should also be stored in a refrigerator in order to preserve its quality. You can download the polaroid app which simply allows you to control the camera via the app. You can also see the battery level of you camera. The app does not allow you to view the image on your phone. The camera is a quite simple point and shoot camera that is exactly like the previous polaroid cameras. The quality of the photos is not amazing when compared to current cameras or phones however you also should not expect it to be. They also do include some colored lens filters to add some different effect to your photos. I will continue to use this camera and buy the expensive film because it takes me back to a happy place however if you are looking for a camera for everyday use then I would recommend a simply point and shoot camera however if you appreciate the artsy type polaroid photos then you can't go wrong with this camera.

A Fun Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this camera for about two weeks I would say that it is a very fun camera. My son and I have recently purchaed several instant cameras but there is nothing as nostalgic and fun as using the same technology that was around when I was a kid, and then sharing that with my son. The best things about this camera are as follows: It uses the same film from the old days or the new i-Type film, so the pictures have that same vintage quality and transform new events into what look like old memories. We even did a selfie with the plus settings. And after installing the app you can setup things like double exposure. My son loves his car so we did a double exposure of the car and a closeup of the wheel. You never know what you are going to get but it turned out pretty cool. Also, we used the various filters that came with the camera to change colors and add light waves. The coolest part is that you don't know what you're going to get until it develops. Some pictures were very cool and some where throw aways, but the excitement of not knowing adds to the charm. The biggest negative to this camera is how expensive the film is. A single picture costs a couple of dollars and by the time you've used the camera for a day you could easily spend 50 dollars or more. And when you factor in all the throw away pictures it makes it even more expensive. Also, some of the pictures, even when taken in good light, are very dark and hard to see. Perhaps I need to do some research or more experimenting to figure out why this happens, but I think its something that's always happened with Polaroids. Overall, we've already had a lot of fun with this and there are pictures hanging up all over our house. I would rdefinitely recommend it.

Nostalgic!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's great nostalgia with some modern features. The flash is weaker than we remember, a well lit room to the eye didn't seem anywhere near bright enough for some of our test shots.

Trying to capture the nostalgia however falls flat
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polaroid - Now Instant Film Camera Generation 2 is an interesting attempt to capture the wonder and fun we had as kids with its icon look and feel. The camera arrives in a small compact box that is easy to open. Once the box is opened you are greeted with a Polaroid Camera and USB-C Charging Cable. Also included in the box are a couple of pamphlets for the warranty and instructions. Note the camera does not come with any film unless you purchase the bundle package. This must be purchased separately. The film comes in a 16 or 40 picture pack. The camera uses the Polaroid i-Type Color Film. Loading the film cartridge is simply opening the foil package, pressing the two buttons on the sides of the camera to lower the film door and inserting till it clicks. Out of the box you will need to charge up the camera, it will arrive with little to no charge. It takes a couple of hours to fully charge the battery. Taking pictures with the camera is as easy as point and shoot, just like I remembered from years ago. This is one area the camera falls way short. The picture quality is bad. Even in brightly lit rooms or outdoors the pictures turn out dark and blurry. I am very disappointed to say the least that after all this time and technology changes, the old-fashioned film cameras have not gotten any better. I would not recommend this camera in its current state. The picture quality is just too bad and not worth the money.

Posted .Hi Jaguarone, I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting good results! You should be able to. If photos are dark and blurry, it may be that the camera was held too far away from your subject for the flash to reach, or perhaps flash wasn't used at all. Please contact our customer service team at usa [at] polaroid [dot] com and we can help.
