I use it to walk my dog when it gets dark and I was impressed at first but after a few days I noticed it wore through the batteries already and 7-10 days later it was basically a regular flashlight that was semi bright.

I had to return because the on off button stopped working correctly. Best Buy accepted the return and replaced it with this one late Sept 2020. In late April 2021 this second replacement stopped working for the same reason. I returned it to Police Security Company because they say they have a lifetime warranty. Read the fine print. They told me it was corrosion even though I changed batteries a third time in 6 months. Don't buy this junk.

It suddenly stopped working after just over 30 days of very light use -- perhaps 20-25 uses of 3 to 5 minutes each. Light output was great, however the narrow focus/spotlight mode was not impressive at all. For $65 after tax, I expected better!

You could turn it on in a fully lit room and see how bright it is. Also, if you need to carry it around in the case of a potential burglar, it’s heavy too.
