The HDMI cable that comes in the box would be considered a starter cable for convenience and can be adequate for most setups. Upgraded cables and be purchased separately. PolkAudioMarketing

    Incredible Sound!

I have always preferred the more traditional receiver/amplifier set up with 5 speakers plus a subwoofer. I have had a sound bar in the past and I liked it fine. I just always considered the sound bar route a simpler and less expensive option, but with the trade off of inferior sound quality. I think my view has been changed. This sound bar may be closer in price to an amp and traditional set up, is still easy to set up, but has surpassed the quality of my old system! Though they weren’t what you would consider “high end”, it was still a Denon receiver with Yamaha speakers. I always liked how they sounded, but this new Polk Magnifi Max SR Speaker System sounds better in near every way! Whether I am listening to music, movies or even a pod cast these new speakers sound amazing. There are 3 preset sound modes for those 3 listening options and all sound great. Well they call it Movie, Music and Sports though sports setting work great for podcasts. Want explosive sound with pounding bass? No problem! Crank all the settings and you will definitely feel it. Or just focus more on dialogue and want to tune the explosion factor down? You can do that too at the touch of a button! There is a one touch night mode that tunes your sounds more in that direction. The 5.1 surround sound sounds fantastic as well. Even though it’s just a single sound bar with 2 rear speakers (plus the subwoofer) it sounds every bit as “full” as my previous 5 speakers plus the subwoofer system. In short this is the best sounding speaker system I have ever owned and the best sound bar set up I have ever heard in person. All in all I’m impressed. Set up was fairly easy. Instructions were clear and easy to understand. I like the design on the remote in that it is very easy to find the volume button in the dark. There are 3 HDMI inputs plus an optical audio option. This system is everything I had hoped. Easy to set up, easy to use, looks nice and sounds AMAZING! I would absolutely recommend this to a friend.

    Small speakers, BIG sound!

I connected the Polk MagniFI Max SR sound bar and accompanying speakers to a TV I bought during Black Friday. The Polk sound bar replaced an older model from a different brand. My expectations were absolutely blown away by the sound this relatively small trio of speakers (and a subwoofer!). Connecting the sound bar was easy - and there are multiple ways to connect. I took advantage of the HDMI-ARC connection and it was literally plug and play. The sound bar itself is somewhat smaller than the model it replaced - but the sound is simply outstanding. Voice dialogue is clear and the bass is full and richly deep. I was also able to take advantage of the Bluetooth connection for streaming music from my iPad/iPhone - and again, the sound was just mind-blowing. With the two auxiliary speakers, it literally sounds like the music is surrounding you, almost like it is being played inside your head. I cannot praise the sound of this system enough. I have yet to find anything undesirable about this system. Not only is the sound great - the set up is so simple, the size works for my setup (the sound bar sits just beneath the TV and fits perfectly), and the two small speakers with subwoofer are easily blended in without being too visually noticeable. I would highly recommend this sound bar set up to anyone looking to make their family room TV sound like a movie theatre. Absolutely outstanding.

Owning many other Polk products, I fully expected this to be a top quality soundbar. It does not disappoint. The packing on this thing is superb. It really does look like a high end product. The wireless speakers and Subwoofer haven't had any issues whatsoever. The soundbar itself sounds excellent. Setup was extremely simple and only took a.few minutes. Very happy with this product and looking forward to enjoying it for years to come.

Was expecting a ton of wires and connections. Plug in the sound bar, plug in the woofer and surround sound speakers - they all connect to each other automatically and the sound is amazing! Works with Roku as well. Has the ability to turn up the bass or volume on surround sound (left or right) and has pre-set modes.

As I've gotten older I have trouble hearing the voices on the TV. With this system not only do I hear all the sounds clearly but I hear all the voices on the TV! The sound bar has a separate volume for voices, what a fantastic idea. The voices are so clear and crisp. The subwoofer and wireless speakers make for a complete sound system.

I've had this set up for a few weeks now and continue to be impressed with the sound. I had read other reviews of the rear speakers making popping noises sometimes. I have experienced this once and I think it was caused by interference with another wireless device. Polk audio delivers with great sound quality at a great price. I was able to pick this up when best buy briefly put it on sale. Polk also stands by their products with a 3 year warranty. The remote is easy to use and set up well. The HDMI arc is also a great feature that works well between the TV and blu-ray player. I also like how the light color changes on the soundbar depending on the audio signal it's receiving. Looking forward to many continued hours of listening to movies and music.

Rear Speaker Issue &Terrible Polk Customer Service

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My main issue is that the rear speakers never synced with the sound bar, rendering them useless. The sound bar and sub were working fine and sound decent for the price point, but recently the subwoofer started making a popping noise while watching movies. I called Polk customer service multiple times and they kept wanting to troubleshoot, each time resulting in it still not working. I finally got them to agree to warranty them out and provided the proof of purchase, but then they have ghosted me ever since! I have sent more 4 emails with no response. I purchased them in November of 2022 and I still have not had a resolution from Polk. My mistake was not taking it back right away, I kept getting strung along by Polk's tech support and trusted that they could resolve it. Do not buy from this brand.

Thank you for sharing and providing feedback. The Soundbar communicates with the subwoofer and wireless rear speakers via RF. Other nearby wireless devices, including wireless routers, can cause communication issues which can result in popping or crackling sounds. Temporarily place the wireless surround speakers (or subwoofer) near the soundbar for initial re-pairing. Once paired, you can move the speakers (or subwoofer) to their desired location. Relocating other nearby wireless devices may be necessary. If you need more help, please get in touch with Polk Support by visiting https://support.polkaudio.com/. PolkAudioMarketing

So far so good. Set us was super easy and the sound is great compared to the TV speakers. We have a large family room with a tall ceiling. I hooked it up to Sony 65X950H TV and everything basically connected on it's own The Sony remote worked right away with out having to program it. All good, love the sound. I saves come case with "open box - certified" purchase.

    Crackling/Popping from satellite/subwoofer speaker

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When working as designed, this is an excellent product. The bar and satellite speakers deliver clear sound while the sound bar provides deep bass; together giving a wonderful theater feel experience. However, one month into use the satellite speakers began making a crackling/popping sound. This distorted noise remained consistent for a few days and then stopped. The system was rarely used over the next few months so the problem was not as noticeable. Now that summer has rolled around and the kids are home, the systems use has increased. This increase has now revealed the same crackling/popping but now from the wireless subwoofer. The distortion is so loud it gives a thunderous vibration throughout the house. I have other Polk Audio sound bars and have recommended/set up products for family and friends. My previous purchases have been pleasant and worthy. My current experience is not so much the same and leaves me a little confused. I want to come to a good resolution with BestBuy or Polk Audio as a means of making right of this situation.

Loud crackles and pops from the sub and rear

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I originally loved this sound bar. It has great sound quality the price. The problem is the rear speakers and sub crackle and pop. This is a common issue with this set that I hadn't realized until after I bought them. This was supposed to be addressed with a firmware update last year, but the issue was still occurring with my set. I attempted to follow directions I found on various websites for forcing firmware updates just in case my bar didn't have the latest update. I could never get it to apply an update, though I don't know if one currently exists. I would think that my set would have it since the changelogs reference the latest update back in 2019 and I purchased this later 2020. I couldn't find a rhyme or reason behind it either. Whether an audio stream was being passed with Atmos, DTS, Prologic, stereo, etc... the crackles and pops still occured. Changing sub or rear speaker volumes didn't help either. Sadly, I'm choosing to return this before the return window closes. I can't justify spending $500+ in the hopes that I can resolve this issue later.

Never again buying a Polk product! And oh, one more thing! Best buy geek squad has the worst customer service. Stay away from this store altogether.
