Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the BOOM Bit Portable Bluetooth Speaker's excellent sound quality and portability. Its convenient size, long battery life, and ease of USB charging are also frequently praised. While some users note the speaker's bass is limited and it lacks waterproofing, the positive feedback on its sound, portability, and other features outweighs these concerns. The included clip is a particularly appreciated feature for its secure attachment.

    Surprisingly Good

I had a rocky start with the Bit. First, the operating instructions are so tiny a magnifying glass is needed, and there is no information regarding charging. Perserverance and knowledge of other devices overcame those obstacles. Next, to make a test run, I paired it with my Echo. Pairing was quick and the music started; but, after a few moments, all went silent. To resolve that, I had to shut down the Bit and also reboot the Echo. Not liking that result, I moved on to pairing with my iPod. Once again, the pairing was quick; however, this time the music kept on playing. To push the limit, I left the iPod upstairs and walked throughout my house, Not until I went outside did it sputter, and soon as I stepped back inside, no more sputter. No worries, because it demonstrated a heck of a long range. So, if you are using the Bit when out walking or doing other things, there should not be any issues at all, because you'll likely have your source with you. The audio reproduction is surprisingly good for such a tiny device. The clip for attaching it to your clothing or whatever is tight and of sturdy build. As to battery life, unless you are engaged in activity take more than a few hours, it should not disappoint. Because all functions are controlled by the + and - buttons, there is a learning process to remember which button or combination of buttons does what task. Even so, for $30, it's definitely worth the price.

let me start by saying this is a personal speaker. don't expect it to be super loud its loud for its size but not like a portable speaker, being said that if you need it to be outside and need an extra kick its perfect. the only down side actually the big down side is that the battery dies pretty quick and it takes longer for the device to charge then to operate so keep that in mind

This was perfect to take with me and clip on my shirt during a charity walk that I did! The sound was pretty good for being so little. No muffled voices or screeching.

This is a very nice little gadget for the jogger who doesn't have a set of ear buds. Clips right onto your coat or shirt collar. Easy to set up and use.

Nice little bluetooth speaker, for its size. You have to keep in mind what it's designed for. For hiking, running and biking this is great just clip it on and listen to your favorite music. I use it mainly for running on my treadmill and when I don't feel like using headphones or earbuds so I can still hear what's going on around me. It has a slim profile and a clip on the back. It made of a soft rubberized material which feels nice to the touch. There are two buttons on the side which control everything from on/off, volume and answering calls. Pop the bottom rubber cap off and there is a usb on the end you can use for charging. It's fits entirely into the palm of my hand and wasn't expecting much sound from it, turned on some music and wow it sounded decent for its size too. Mids and highs were good but don't expect any real bass. Overall nice little package with super easy controls and portable.

You get a great sound from a portable tiny speaker. I use it as a speakerphone while I'm on my bike.

The Polk Bit is a great little speaker with surprisingly big sound. When I originally saw the size of it I was sure it was going to produce poor sound. I was pleasantly surprised that it sounded pretty good even at higher volumes. Pros: Big sound in a very small package Very portable Plugs into any usb charging port to charge. You don't need to look for a cable to charge it which is very nice. Adds to the portability. Cons: The only buttons are a + and - so you will want to hang on to the little manual until you get the hang of how to control it via these 2 buttons. The battery isn't the best but that's to be expected given how small it is. Overall a good little ultra portable speaker.

I have to say, the Polk Bit is a neat device to have. The ease of sliding it in the collar of my shirt or the pocket of my pants and getting work done is so nice. Sound is surprising for such a small speaker, don't expect bass but it is very loud for such a small device. Charging is easy, grab a charging block or plug it in your computer. Battery lasts about 3 hours at full volume, close to 7 at half volume. The rubber gets dirty quick and the first initial connection took a minute. I could not get the device to turn on the first time, now it works perfect. If you are a runner and hate headphones, this may be your best option, you can still hear cars and the music will keep you going.

I've been impressed with this mini speaker so far. It is very loud, louder than my phone speakers, and clear when it is loud. The bass from this tiny speaker is not the best, but I was not expecting it to be due to the size. The portability is fantastic. We've already used the speaker several times outside when we've wanted to listen to music and I see this getting a lot of use at the pool and beach this summer. Straight out of the box, the battery life has been excellent. We've already listened to the speaker around the 3 hour rating time and still haven't charged it. I would recommend this to anyone looking louder than phone sound with no bulk.

I like this little speaker and I think you will too as long as you know what you're getting it for. It's very small - I'd say about the size of a Zippo lighter. It's made of all rubber and hard plastic. There's a cap on the bottom that covers the built-in USB connector that is used to charge it. There's only two buttons as well as well - volume up and volume down; all other functions are handled through some combination press/hold of the two. Though I haven't dropped it yet, it feels like it could take a few hits to the pavement and be just fine. There's a clip built into the back of it that feels strong and flexible. That combined with the small size meant I was able to clip it pretty much anywhere (shirt collar, pants pocket, etc.) and never had to worry about it falling off. It seems pretty well sealed up, but I don't think it's water-resistant and I wonder how it might hold up if you were to drop it in the dirt or sand. The sound is pretty good. I'd call it a step in quality and loudness from any built-in phone speaker, but it's not as good as the sound you'd get from a regular-sized Bluetooth speaker. It's great for what it is considering the size. It gets loud enough for quiet rooms. I listened to it in my car with all the windows rolled up and ended up cranking the volume to the max to hear it though. There's a little bit of distortion at max volume, but not a lot. The battery life is quoted at 3 hours at 'just over half volume' and that seems about right. Most of my listening was at or near max volume and it seemed like I was driving closer to 2 hours. Having the USB connector built in is nice because you don't have to carry an extra cable around with you to charge it, but the speaker is big enough that if you are charging it on a slim laptop or a USB port in a car that's buried in the console it could pose a problem. The battery life is a disappointing to me - it will basically get you through a commute or a short to medium hike, but I would be plugging it into a charger after each use. Again, considering the size I don't think it's terrible, but I do wish it was better. Overall I think this is a value as long as you know what you need it for. The packaging of the Polk Bit shows people running, climbing, biking, etc. It definitely feels like a fitness-oriented product and I see it's main use case being in places where using normal ear buds or headphones is not appropriate/safe. I could especially see this being useful for someone who rides their bike a lot.
