Because of the HDMI port configuration on my TV I had to go with the optical connection and it works just fine, although I have to mute my TV audio and let the sound bar do it's job. If I don't then I get two audio sources trying to play at once.

Great Mini Sound Bar

The sound is great addition to my Sony Television. The clear voice feature also very nice. I can finally make out what is said . The only thing I noticed when viewing a streamed sci-fi movies is the bass was crackling a bit during certain scenes. Don’t know why? Overall great speaker for the price!
