Good sound bar but not amazing

Big Sound, Small Size
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was fairly easy, until it comes to set the remote to learn other remotes. Sound is pretty good. Treble and mids are a little suspect at times, when volume get higher. (But that also depends on what you are watching) The unit is small and unobtrusive, The subwoofer has deep lows. I recommend HDMI arc setup over the digital optical cable setup. Comes with bluetooth and easy google cast connection. WiFi is a bit spotty but works. This is a nice option for a small to mid-size room

Not sure what’s up
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sub keeps making this off-tone sound that is not appealing. Considering taking it back.

Awesome Sound, perfect for the minimalist
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Magnifi Mini is perfect for a discreet, easy to set up and great sounding speaker. Other sound bars do not come smaller or better sounding for the money than the Polk MagniFi Mini. The sound bar sounds great with both movies and music. It really made voices quite clear and easy to hear especially with movies like Harry Potter with the tricky accents and sound action sounds. Music sounded great when I played iTunes though my apple tv on my LG OLED 2016 TV. One of the great features is Google Cast, which lets you easily stream from your phone, other music apps and even make the Magnificent a whole house music set up. The MagniFi Mini is tiny, just 13 inches wide and three inches high. A set of lights on the front let you know the volume and input selection and switching inputs is easy. Unfortunately you can not wall mount the unit, but it could be placed on a small self. The subwoofer that comes with the unit is also small and is wireless so you can place it out of sight. The remote is excellent. It is a great size, very ergonomic and clearly marked buttons. The unit can connect to various devices either via bluetooth, Wi-Fi, optical, 3.5 mm input and HDMI. You have lots of choices here. Google East is great, and can potentially connect with Google Home and Chromecast Audio. Sound is great, it compares well with a pair of dedicated speakers, the side firing speakers really help. Sound is full and open sounding. The MagniFi Mini is one of the best sound bars at this price. You won't be disappointed.

Junk
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is junk. Anytime you pause your movie or whatever your watching the system shuts off. Then you have to unplug the speaker. Then the sub will lose connection then you have to reconnect. I called there IT department and they are worthless. They said best buy would be the one to contact..save your $400.00 and keep walking!!

Good sound in a small package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polk MagniFi system has actually exceeded my expectations, especially considering its diminutive size. When I first saw it, I figured the sound would be weak and tinny but that couldn't be further from the truth. Now, will this system rattle the pictures off the walls? No. But that's not why I have it. (If that's what you're looking for, don't bother reading the rest of this review and shop on for something more fitting.) The sound from the 42" Vizio in my bedroom is severely lacking and space was a concern, so the size made the Polk a perfect fit. The remote requires direct--and I mean direct--line of sight to the soundbar or it simply won't work. The multi-color LED's on the face are supposed to inform you of all sorts of status things, but they are basically useless. Beyond these two things though, I really like this little system. The highs are crisp and the lows are warm. It is not bass heavy, but the wireless subwoofer is only 6.5" so I didn't expect too much. The mids can get a little lost, but overall the sound quality is very good. Setup is extremely simple and is helped greatly by the fact that Polk includes all the cables you could need right in the box, so no running back to the store to pick up something. That's a big plus that is no longer present in a lot of products. If the remote sensor was a bit less finicky and there was some sort of information screen in place of the LED's, I could not fault this system.

TJC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instead of getting Geek Squad - I got your third party service. I have never operated a sound bar in my life. They did not help at all w/ explaining the device. I didn't even know I had another remote until I went over to my TV.

Sounds good for a small speaker

A BIG disappointment!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased Polk Tower and Satellite speakers along with a Polk Sub woofer for my home theater and am thrilled with the sound quality. I purchased this mini soundbar system based on this. The sound quality was great, the bass was good, and the voice adjustment really worked well with a lot of background noise. Unfortunately, the system went crazy after a short time, playing at full volume, then not responding to the remote. I returned it to Best Buy and exchanged it for another, thinking it was a fluke. Now the second system is performing the same way! I am returning it for a refund. Don't waste your money on this product. I have read similar reviews on this product - after the fact.

Outstanding Functionality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Polk Audio has hit a home run with this soundbar - great sound, easy to setup and use and wonderful versatility. Just plug it in right out the the box and you're ready to go. Definitely use your HDMI ARC port on your TV if you have one and turn on your CEC function on your TV (or whatever your TV mfr calls it to recognize & control HDMI devices). This allows you to control your soundbar volume with your TV remote or your DVD remote. The woofer auto connects by bluetooth with no problem. The soundbar also has bluetooth connectivity and Chromecast wifi connectivity. I was able to setup & use both on first try without any problem on my android phone and tablet. So you can use this soundbar as a bluetooth speaker or Chromecast speaker. (Download the Google Home app to use Chromecast.) The soundbar has settings to adjust the sound to Movie, Sport, and Music modes, plus individual bass & voice controls. The Sport mode works great for dialogue enhancement/clarity. Lastly it has 150 watts of power so you can really crank it up without any distortion.

Decent sound bar for small spaces
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box The box is large but the units inside are much smaller and packed very well. There is a power brick and cord for the speaker and power cord for the sub. For connecting the unit, Polk has included the HDMI cable, a 3.5mm analog stereo mini-jack and the toslink optical cable. There is also the remote and batteries. Setup Connecting the Magnifi Mini is pretty straight forward. Plug in the sub-woofer, Connect the power brick to the speaker and plug it in. Connection between the speaker and sub is wireless and pre-matched so there is no fumbling to connect the two. Choose HDMI, optical or analog and plug it in. A word of caution here though, if you connect this to an HDMI or optical source that does not turn off, the unit will not turn off either. I had initially connected this to my cable box, which I do not turn off, and the unit kept turning back on. Tech support indicated this is supposed to happen. In addition to the 3 hard wire methods, the Magnifi Mini also has Bluetooth and google Chromecast which can be hard wired with an either net cable or by Wi-Fi. Looks The speaker itself is about a foot wide, 3 inches high and about 5 inches deep. I can pick it up with one hand. It’s made of plastic but has a good solid feel and has some weight to it. The sub is black plastic with a downward firing speaker. There is a vertical LED display that uses dots and color to indicate connectivity, volume and settings. The remote is well thought out and easy to handle. There is no back lighting but it's not really needed. The volume is a trough in the middle with a separator between up and down. The mode buttons are across the top, bass selection on the left side and voice level on the right. Sound & Modes There are three preset modes, movie, sports and music. The sport preset raises the voice and mid-tones. I prefer this for my listening taste over the others. The volume is perfect for my small apartment living room. Surround sound would be nice but this does the trick. Google I used my Google home app to connect to the speakers and it went smoothly. Once the Chromecast was connected to the network it updated the software. Chromecast works great, no problems to report. I cast through the google home app and no trouble to report. Bluetooth Bluetooth connections also work great. Pairing was a simple as pressing a button. I Connected this to my Amazon Echo Dot and it works flawlessly. The only faults I have with this unit are the remote control and volume control levels. The remote design is well thought out but the actions are very slow and sluggish. The volume control has 5 LEDs but seem to have mid levels. It appears levels 1-3 are very low, 4 & 5 get very loud. There is really no comfortable middle level. Pros: Looks Size Sound Cons: Remote Volume control I would recommend this to a friend.
