I was really disappointed with the performance of this set. It is not worth the money or even time to deal with. It sounds nothing like the display at home. I bought a cheaper set of another brand and was more satisfied.

I am quite impressed with this little soundbar and subwoofer. We have a rather small cabinet for our 42" TV so the form factor of the Polk Magnifi soundbar appealed to us. I wondered what the sound quality would be like, but after using it for several days I can say that I am amazed at the quality of the sound from this little soundbar. I like a lot of bass and I only have to tune up the bass to 3 out of 5. The highs are perhaps a little over-bearing, so I turned the "voice channel" (as Polk cals it) down to 1 out of 5 levels. Two very minor issues that annoyed me but don't affect the quality of the product: The instructions give zero direction about network setup and using Google home. Once I figured out that I needed to use Google home, when the soundbar connected to my network it immediately downloaded a firmware update. I would have been oblivious to this had I not done some research online. Also, it would be much more helpful if there was some sort of read out screen on the soundbar somewhere. Instead, the soundbar uses a series of different colored lights to indicate what input the soundbar is set on. This is a little confusing, but again it's not a big deal.

Poor quality. The sub started cutting out after 3 or 4 months of use. I purchased this to replace an older Polk unit that had the same issue. No more Polk for me.

I used this Polk to gain better audio with my bedroom TV. When I hooked it up I was pleased to find three options for hooking the system up, AUX plug, HDMI ARC, and optical audio. I used the optical audio and set the placement of the speakers. I was a little disappointed to find that the main speaker is about 1/3 of the size of the subwoofer and yet weighs twice as much giving me little confidence in the woofer magnet. I placed the sub about 10 feet away in a corner and what I love about that is that the sub is wireless so I didn't need to run any wires which was an awesome feature. After I fired it up and programmed my TV remote to control the volume on the Polk I was surprised on the clarity of the speakers. I do find it unable to balance the way I like it because the only sound options are movie, sports and music and you can control voice and bass, no mid, high or low. After setting up the sound the best I could I was able to pair my phone up and listen to music through the bluetooth feature. That is truly a terrific feature of this. Not only a soundbar but an audio system. My two biggest complaints are the sound adjustments and that to switch it to bluetooth you have to push the bluetooth button. If you don't have the remote, the buttons on the top are hard to see. Because of those two items I give it 4 starts however, for the money I recommend this over any other brand. It's small, out of the way, wireless sub, great sound, and price are all wins.

I find this will often be out of sync with my tv. A delay on the Polk device. Also, often when the channel is changed, the Polk device will take several seconds for the audio to sync with the tv.

The speaker system from Polk was very easy to setup, except for the Chromecast part - I never got that working, but I didn't need it anyway. The rest of the setup went smoothly, as the wireless woofer was already synchronized with the main unit. My TV didn't have a HDMI port labeled labeled ARC so I used the provided optical cable. An Amazon Dot is connected to the AUX port for some tunes. Sound quality is pretty good, but the stereo separation is only adequate. Definitely good enough for my workshop. No way in my home, however.

With either HDMI ARC or optical, the sound fell out of synch with on screen. Can be temporarily fixed by powering off then on, but the problem recurs. Not acceptable in any sense.

Hello, the MagniFi Mini can sound wonderful in medium to small rooms. Larger rooms please consider one of Polk Audio's larger Soundbars  https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/category/sound-bars

Sorry to learn of your frustrations. May I recommend using the HDMI ARC connection? If possible, connect the TV to the Soundbar using the HDMI ARC connection, and be sure to activate the television CEC or HDMI control feature. If connecting to a Samsung TV, this feature is called Anynet. PolkAudioMarketing

Using the same approach as other speaker makers, Polk has separated the high and low frequencies into two separate units. This allows for a smaller visible footprint while isolating competing frequencies. The result is a clean, crisp sound from a small package in front of your TV. About the footprint; the unit that sits in front of your TV is very compact. This means it will fit into nearly any space. It also means that if you're looking for a unit that matches the width of your TV, then this isn't it. The bass unit is designed to be vertical, so the required floor space is small, but the clearance above is moderately significant. Still, it is compact enough to fit into most spaces. Polk has a reputation for delivering solid sound clarity, and this speaker is no different. The sound field is distinct, and the sound is clear for most applications. The ability to connect to other devices via Bluetooth is a handy addition, allowing you to quickly connect and play music from your phone or other device. Build quality seems high, with all connectors and enclosures very solid. What this is not is a replacement for a full audio system, but you wouldn't expect that at this price point or in this compact a system. If what you're looking for is a small, easy to install, flexible soundbar for everyday use, then this is a solid choice.

Right out of the box, the Polk Magnifi mini looks very basic. Dont let that fool you. The set up is straight forward. The vocals are crisp and clear when watching movies. The deep bass doesnt over power dialog and is well balanced. During music playback, the treble can be harsh. But again, the vocals are clear. Three present "sounds"include movie, sports, music; which, to me, sound like changes to mid range. There is a bass and voice control along with over all volume. I have to admit, I have my speakers set pretty loud. When playing 5.1 surround sound movies,I didnt really notice any difference. Like many other reviews, setting up Google cast can be a little difficult. I just gave up. Ok, I made the mistake of setting the wireless bass speaker near my wifi router, that was a mistake. There was constant popping and cracking. But after some help from internet, the fix was easy. Just move it further away.... problem solved. Whats up with the dots??? The unit doest use LCD or have a display. This can be very annoying, as you have to decipher what dots represent what. Polk could have placed a little more effort on this one as soundbars that cost less that a display. But this isnt a deal breaker. Over all, the price justifies this product. Set up, ease of use, and excellent sound all come together nicely.

    MagniFi Mini needs some work

I really wanted to like the Polk MagniFi Mini. It is Polk and I've always heard great things about Polk. The positives: this "sound bar" is small; the sub-woofer is smaller than most boxy ones and is lightwight. The not totally positives: there are minimal inputs - HDMI arc (and you can use HDMI ONLY with an arc capable TV - which I don't have), Optical and AUX. It would be a waste to use aux IMO, I'm using optical. The sound isn't bad, but it's not great either. You can adjust the bass level and the voice level. The problems I have are: the sound bar is always on. I don't always want bass or a sound bar, but even when I turn it off, it comes back on. I had to turn off the TV speakers because it doesn't know to turn them off when it's on. I had sound from both the TV and sound bar at the same time. Not good. When I pause my DVR and it sits paused a bit, the sound doesn't come back on for about 20 seconds, so I have to back it up and wait for the sound to come on. Sometimes it doesn't come back on at all, so I have to press the optical button. When I turn on the TV, the sound bar comes on, and it goes to the HDMI setting automatically, so everytime I have to get the sound bar remote and turn it to optical. It doesn't remember the settings. It is out sync. I watch lips move and I shouldn't be noticing that. It is very distracting. There are dots on front of the bar to show certain things. They show up then go away so I don't know what the settings are unless I see it when it flashes. For example - 1 dot for HDMI, 2 for optical and 3 for aux. Volume - I have no clue what the dots represent. Same for bass and voice control. Sometimes 4 lights flash. Very confusing. I had another sound bar - it had more inputs (I was able to hook the blu-ray directly to the bar via a 2nd HDMI, now it has to go through the TV). The sound was clear & crisp. There was a LED with descriptions on the bar so I could see what the settings were. Easy. And it didn't need arc to use the HDMI. For Polk Audio, I am disappointed. This could be so good... But it's just not.

This soundbar and wireless subwoofer combo is absolutely amazing. It was fast and easy to set up and has amazing features. It comes with built in Bluetooth to connect your devices and with built in Chromecast to stream Google play music or Spotify by simply casting it from the preferred app. I love the night mode on the speakers since I do live with 4 other people and night mode helps reduce bass and only output certain vocal frequencies for clear audio without the boom of the bass. The speakers do get really loud when you want them too and there is no distortion. It is a great combo for a small to medium sized room and a lot better than the standard tv or monitor speakers. You can connect to your TV through HDMI, optical, AV, or even audio jack. Overall, this soundbar is truly amazing and I haven't had any problems with it so far. Your remote controllers will automatically use the soundbar for volume increases as long as it has an ir sensor so you can use your Cable or Satellite providers remote to control volume if you don't want to use the one for the soundbar. Great feature to add to an already great product.
