If you want to be able to actually hear what they are saying in movies and still enjoy theatre like sound this is a great sound bar. Well made, nice boom from the subwoofer, small footprint and most of all you can actually hear the dialogue!! Don't let the size fool you this is a quality sound bar

Pulling for this little guy, but falls short

Love the sound that came out of this little machine!!! Small footprint and big sound. Bass was excellent for our size room 18x18. But, when using HDMIarc with our blueray DVD player, the sound completely stopped. It took me about 20 mins to get the sound back from the DVD player. It also said that the light would turn green when sensing Dolby, but it would turn green then turn orange. It would never stay green. So, I don't know if I was truly getting Dolby sound from this little animal! When it works, IT WORKS, but when it doesn't, it's very frustrating. I want to give this little beast an excellent rating, but it does have issues.

Hello, using the HDMI ARC feature is intended to be used with your Television that is also equipped with an HDMI ARC connection. Connect your DVD player to the TV and then HDMI ARC to the HDMI ARC input on the Sound Bar. If currently connected this way, adjust the audio out settings on the Blue-Ray player. Experiment with PCM vs Digital. Further assistance required, please contact https://support.polkaudio.com/ PolkAudioMarketing

Open Box Buy - Wouldn't Sync With TV

    Posted .

I liked the sound, the look, and the small size of this sound bar. Unfortunately, it just wouldn't sync with my Samsung TV so I brought it back to Best Buy and bought a Sound Bar that matched (same brand) my TV. My only comment is be aware of Open Box purchase - it was in good condition but had no instructions and it DID NOT state this in the Open Box tag. When the sync problem arose, I had to go online to Polk to download the instructions. Still didn't help. Maybe an unopened item would have worked - but didn't want to have to make another trip.

Great bass, weak mid and high range

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: -Awesome sub-woofer/bass -Good home theater sound -Good voice level adjustment -Easy setup -Intuitive operation Cons: -Music quality is poor. Any mid or high range is swallowed up by the bass -No adjustment for either. The only options are for bass and voice levels -Glitch in the unit where it turns itself back on within 30 seconds after repeatedly turning it off. Polk tech support's only recommended fix was to either unplug the bar after each use or mute the sound. Seriously?!?!? Overall, this is a good system for home theater use, especially for the price. I'm returning it however as I wanted it for both good quality music streaming and TV use (and obviously for the glitch in the unit).

I purchased this Polk magnifi mini a few days ago as my Christmas gift. I was really happy with the installation and was impressed with the quality of the sound. Unfortunately, I am considering returning it as I am experiencing some glitches with the connections. Sometimes I even have to turn it off and on to even use my tv which is frustrating and annoying. Polk needs to go back and revise these glitches.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing some connection issues.
Often we have found this symptom to be an EDID issue, which can be resolved when a more advanced HDMI cable is being used.
We recommend an HDMI version 2.0, or more recent for the best communications between your sources/screen and your receiver. Further assistance required, please contact https://support.polkaudio.com/ PolkAudioMarketing

Decent sound system ruined by poor remote

I received this soundbar system through Best Buy’s Tech Insider Network in exchange for an honest review. I labored over this review and unfortunately, in its current state, I cannot fully recommend this sound system. Here’s what I’ve found after using the system for a couple weeks. Pros: - Setup was very simple with no complications. I setup this soundbar system in our downstairs bedroom. It’s good-sized for a bedroom, but it’s not a large room like a living room or family room. The TV in that room does not have HDMI with ARC, so I had to connect via optical audio. - Bluetooth connection was effortless and works well. - For the value and size, this system has a decent sound. - The subwoofer has amazing bass drive and is fully adjustable. - I was most impressed with the Voice Assist feature which works very well in isolating vocal tracks of movies to help better understand dialogue. That’s a huge plus for me. - The Night Effect feature also works well to reduce background noise and isolate vocal tracks for low volume listening. - The Movie, Sports, and Music modes work well for boosting appropriate volume levels for each preset scenario. Cons: - Speaker frequency ranges are not the best. Highs seem to dominate over mids in the sound bar. Also, sound is very centralized at the sound bar itself and is not well amplified throughout the rest of the room. - The indicator LEDs on the front of the bar are somewhat deceiving. There are five lights to indicate volume, yet these lights are also used when switching sound modes or when switching input. Also, you can also increase the volume well beyond the five lights. So, essentially, there is no accurate indicator of volume level. - The poor remote is a huge con. Quite possibly the most frustrating remote I’ve ever used! It has a very poor response time causing the user to continue to push buttons multiple times before it responds. If you were increasing volume, when the sound system volume finally catches up to all the button presses, you get blown out of the room and wake up everyone in the house. Also, the remote must to be used dead on straight to the receiver. It simply won’t work at an angle. Overall, I’d say this otherwise decent sounding small room soundbar system is ruined by its poor remote. I’m very sorry to say I can’t recommend this audio system with its current remote control. The Polk Audio engineers need to fix the remote and/or receiver before the system is released for the public to purchase.

    Almost perfect

A bit rough for sports and regular tv. The bass feels a bit heavy even when turned down. Night mode helps tremendously with this however. Movies and games are unreal for such a small speaker. Only complaint is that the audi synch is awful compared to even cheaper sound bars. When it works, its the best affordable sound bar on the market. When it doesn't, well...it's like watching an english dubbed godzilla movie.

Replace a 15 year old Polk 5.1. NO it's not the same, but the sound is still amazing considering the soundbars size and it is in a large room (17x25). Easy to setup with my new LG TV and Dish.

The system works great most of the time. I have the occasional issue with overheating and the remote not issuing the correct command. I set it up to be fully synced to my tv and it will sometimes just stay on and overheat when I turned off the tv hours ago.

I don’t have the greatest hearing, so I was looking for something specific that could amplify voices and still provide a lot of punch when I need it without destroying sound quality. I did an unhealthy amount of research into the best soundbar for my needs and I ended on this Polk Magnifi Mini. I plugged it in, turned it on, and it’s incredible.

    Too expensive for it's capabilities

I bought this soundbar but returned shortly after. The sound i'd say is below average compared to other sound bars at it's price range. Poor sound quality while action movies, tv series and even less quality by watching cable tv. The subwoofer is too weak, very light considering subwoofers all tend to have a decent weight on them because of the magnet in it, so this already was a red flag right out of the box. Nothing that made me justify the sale's price (and I did not get it at retail price either) so for $329 retail price or any other sale's event price, this sound bar isn't worth buying. There are other brands at a much lower price with way better sound quality. I would only suggest buying this sound bar if you plan on using it on a gaming computer set up only. but don't expect good quality sound for a living room.

At first this was a great sound bar. The actual sound was great, and plenty of options to customize. But less than a year in the sub stopped connecting, we tried everything but nothing worked. It also stopped staying connected to the TV. Also there's no good replacement remotes. Just a very small limited one i found on Amazon.
