    Decent for $150

I got it open box for about $150 and its sort of worth it for that price. The only problem I have with a lot of these smaller speakers is they sound muffled with not very clear treble. It's also very picky about surround sound. It has to be exactly Dolby 5.1 or Dolby 5.1 Plus or surround will not work. As far as I know, if youre using a Roku, only the Roku with optical will make surround work properly by choosing Dolby 5.1 via optical.

    Polk Sound Bar

Excellent audio Polk quality packed in a small sound bar with subwoofer that has Chromecast built in. I didn’t know that when I purchased it, so it came as a nice add on.

    Meh

Usually I'm right there with great reviews of things. I do my research, and decide what to get. This is definitely a product where I just felt "meh" after getting it. I gave it a good week and a half to see if it maybe were just me. Voices that were very clear on my 15 year old stereo system were barely audible. The volume had to be turned up almost to the maximum for me to even get any volume out of the thing, and my living room isn't that big. Unfortunately, I thought this would be a great device. Sorry, but back to the store it's going.

I purchased this for use on a 4K tv in my bedroom. Only got mostly static. Voice sync was way off. Called BB Geek Squad for help. They said to return it.

Four Stars if You Are Only Using for TV and Movies

I really wanted to write a positive review for this sound bar. I've been a Polk fan since the late '70s. The sound is tremendous. The WAF (Wife Approval Factor) has to be off the charts! Set us is simple. The problem for me was it's inconsistent handling of Bluetooth. I had the same problem with two of these. I got intermittent interference whenever I used it. I wanted this for casual music listening as for TV and Blu-ray. It could not have been better for TV. As a matter of fact, if TV and movies are all you want it for, I recommend it. It takes a while to get used to how precisely you have to aim the remote, but the sound you'll get is worth it. However, the poor Bluetooth performance was a deal breaker for me.

    Bluetooth blues

Good luck guessing the pin to connect your PC via bluetooth because it's not in the documentation. Let me save you some time, it's four 0s. Absolutely infuriating! Also I was charged an extra $10 for this purchase in the store. It's going back along with the LG TV I recently purchased from Best Buy.

    TRASH! Do not buy!

It keeps gradually growing farther and farther behind when bluetoothed. Tried using it with our projector to watch movies by midpoint it was second behind the image and unbearable. Moved the laptop closer in an attempt to remedy to no avail. Also had an issue of disconnecting at times and simply not playing any sound at all. Replaced with a $30 Amazon cheap system and just as good of sound with ZERO interruptions or problems. Complete trash from a supposedly good company.

    Terrible Sound

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this soundbar to replace a small soundbar I currently use for gaming on a monitor. I wanted to keep the small form factor and i assumed the simulated 5.1 would be a nice touch from my 2.0 soundbar. The sound is terrible. I have tried every setting and yet it sounds muffled. It is far from clear. The highs are way to muffled for this size. The soundbar constantly cuts from Dolby to stereo from my PS4. I have a polk woodbourne which I use for background music and I assumed (poorly) that the quality of this would be similar. I wish I could of returned this.

Changing from one channel to another often leaves me with no sound! There is a remote which allows user to change the level of bass and treble. The bass is too loud even at the lowest level available, so the Subwoofer stays unplugged.

First, we would like to thank you for your purchase and for leaving us your feedback. I want to recommend relocating the wireless subwoofer. Subwoofer placement can have a significant effect on overall bass output. If less bass is desired, try moving the subwoofer away from any corners. Regarding the sound dropping out, change the TV's audio out settings. For instance, if the audio out is set to auto, change to digital out. Purchased this for a spare bedroom and used it very infrequently over the last 18 months. The sound is okay! Definitely, not high fidelity! It is a little complicated to setup! One pro is the wireless sub-woofer connects consistently! The bass is not very deep! The biggest issue I have is the soundbar developed a clicking sound and when I tried to get Polk to service it that they refused! I was told no longer under warranty and when I offered to pay they told me to take it to a local repair shop! I am going to figure out a way to recycle it! I will not buy another Polk product!

Remote worked for one week. Replaced batteries with no improvement in remote. Great sound but worthless if I have to get up and manually tune. Received sound bar as a Christmas gift Dec. 25 2017.

well well, poor directions, i finally figured out how to adjust the TV audio so the mini, works, then i couldnt sync the subwoofer and mini's bluetooth function. the tech rep suggested returning for a new subwoofer. just took it back to BB, can you imagine what aggravation i would have had if i had purchased it from you know who. i'll look at other soundbar options.

Turns itself off all the time

It sounds great but it has an auto shut off feature and it turns itself while a show is paused or your looking for something to watch. Sometimes it refuses to connect when you turn it back on and you'll have to hard reset it. It will test your patience regularly. Don't buy this. Don't buy Polk.

    Totally Disappointing

Don’t waste your money! Audio adjustment for voices doesn’t do anything. Using the remote to adjust voices or bass doesn’t do anything. The lip sync is off every time the channel is changed. So sorry I bought this Polk Magnifi mini.

We very much appreciate your feedback and apologize for your frustrations. Connecting to the Soundbar via HDMI ARC is recommended for a TV with smart features. This type of connection will help with lip sync issues and allow for HDMI CEC/HDMI control enabling the TV to control the power and volume of the soundbar. Addressing the Dialog, be sure the soundbar is not pushed back on the shelf; this can degrade the sound quality. Bummer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this at the end of June. Unfortunately within a month the subwoofer started having a crackling sound and then eventually the main unit would glitch so that the sound would cut out and the remote would become unresponsive until the units power was cycled off and on again. Requested a refund. We’ll see what best buy says.

    Frequent problems.

The sound on this unit isn’t bad if you can get it to work. About once a week it freezes up and has to be physically unplugged to make sound again. We have done all of the trouble shooting and software updates with it, but the problem persists. Very disappointed.
