Purchased this for 2 reasons. I owned Polk speakers in my car and loved them and was recommended by 2 BB employees as the most for the money. I researched several brands and models and did not want to spend over $400.00. This system was easy to assemble but conversations were not much better and felt I had to increase the volume too high to get what I wanted. Continued to use for 13 days and tried movies, talk shows, action TV, Blue Rays and this Polk System just did not perform. Returned to BB and researched some more and purchased a ZVOX SB500 on sale at BB for $399.99 and love it.

The sound bar does improve the quality of the sound from the TV.

The sound quality on this sound bar is superb. I'm still trying to ascertain why the remote stops working occasionally. For some reason, I have to unplug the unit 3 to 5 times before I get the remote to start working again.

The volume on it highest is still quite low. For the cost of this product along with all the positive things the sale person said about this product, this purchase was very very disappointing.

I initially bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. I purchased it based upon the employee's recommendation. It sounded muffled to me, a lot of bass but not crisp sounding in the store. We hooked it up and we thought it sounded OK, but it lacked crispness. We had purchased an LG for $200 less and hooked it up on Christmas Day and it was night and day the difference in sound. In fact, I ordered the LG from their house and returned this Polk Audio the next day. You can find a better sounding sound bar (especially for voices) for less money.

Not too impressed with this sound bar but it is adequate for general TV watching and rented movies. I would recommend to anyone but not if they were seeking the highest quality.

I had high expectations for my purchase but had to swallow my pride when it came time to set up and use it. Generally, I never bother with owners guides for setting up something like this, but it was quickly apparent that help was needed. However, the instructions were next to worthless so I turned to Google for additional support but that wasn't that much help either. The little remote that comes with the unit is integral in setting the Mode between whether you connect by the digital Optical Cable or choose the analog VGA route. We have still not figured out how to get the Optical cable to work, so we're stuck with the VGA. All indications are the Optical cable is delivering a a signal from the TV since it glows red, but it doesn't connect, so we've settled for the VGA. Also is spite of the advertised feature that the TV remote can control the sound level on the Polk Soundbar, the two are not compatible. If you have an RF remote for your TV as we do, you will need to rely on the stinky Polk remote for controlling sound level since it only accepts IR signals via the Polk remote. This limitation is not communicated in the product specifications and we only learned that we wouldn't be able to link during our Google search to figure out how to set it up. Bottom line is I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Even though the sound is ok, the interfaces to use it leave much to be desired.
