    Good but not great

After searching for a soundbar, I decided on the Polk Magnifi because of Polk's reputation with speakers and the heavily advertised "VoiceAdjust" feature. When connected and running something in 5.1, it sounded good for the most part, especially at higher volume. Unfortunately, at lower volume or with something that is 2.0 from the source, voice is washed out and actually hard to hear at times. I adjusted every audio setting from TV, Dish receiver and Sony Blu-Ray player. Noting could give the center channel what it needed. I ended up swapping it out for Vizio 3831-D0 and it is an overall more enjoyable experience. If something isn't coming in at 5.1 from the source, it replicates 3.1 similar to Pro Logic on my Denon receiver. At higher volume the Polk is louder, but I'm much happier with the Vizio 3831-D0 than the Polk Magnifi. I did not try the Magnifi One or Magnifi Mini.

    You Can Hear the Dialogue

My husband has hearing difficulty, and this soundbar lets him select to make the dialogue louder and the background noises actually fade into the background. This should be standard issue on all televisions and sound systems, but this unit is the only one we found that does so. In addition, it works very well and turns his mancave into a theatre room.

I am beginning to loose clear hearing and was having trouble with the TV voices not being louder than the TV background noises. So, it was time to get soundbar that would allow the voice to be turned up. So, being familiar with Polkaudio products and for the price of this package, it has far exceeded my expectation! Now, I do not have the TV loud as I can now set the voices!

I've always shopped for Polk Audio speakers in the past so when it came time to buy a sound bar with a subwoofer, my search stopped with the Magni-Fi. The sound is crisp and the wall shaking bass makes movie watching fun! After looking at several different makes & models, i'm glad I went with my instinct. You won't be disappointed.

I was looking for a soundbar that would fit at the base of my new Sony XBR-49X850B. Since the tv stand is very low I needed a low profile soundbar. I also wear hearing aids and need a soundbar that produces clear, crisp voices. I am happy to say that this soundbar fits both my needs in a spectacular way. The sound is really good for such a low profile unit!!

I purchased my unit on the recommendation of the sales rep. It worked fine for about a week then the voice kept shutting off when I changed channels. I went to BB for training on my new computer, also purchased at BB and while I was speaking to the GEEK who assisted me I mentioned this problem. He was great, he recommend I return it as it was probably defective. I've had the new one now for 2 days, let's see what happens. PS, the sound is great.

We LOVE this sound bar. I actually use it far more than I planned. Especially when I am playing much loved CDs. I want to purchase 2 more Polk speakers--to place in the master bedroom. No regrets at all. Even I was able to see up this system . Usually need to beg a grandchild for help!

    Over process, under deliever

A few issues with this device turning off during regular use. Not detecting dolby digital signal, and just over processing a bit too much. The device lacks on the treble frequencies (OR high frequecies), out does the mid's, and has clear low's. But the DSP chip can't make up it's mind on what to do with the sound. Polk is known as one of the top brands. But it failed me on this one. As the quality is pinned in the mid range sound bars but closer to lower end mid range. If your keen in balance, crisp, full sound, like me, than stay away from this bar as you will not like it. Now on the other hand if your looking for a sound bar to just improve the sound over bad tv speakers than this will do just fine. Ask them to demo at a store (If you're picking one up at the store) you'll see what I mean. I switched mine for a Bose. Much MUCH better quality.

    Not functioning

These speakers are possessed.. Not literally but they would not turn on earlier today so I googled, youtubed, old fashioned read the actual manual and could not figure it out. Stuck my tounge out, closed one eye and pushed a random button and it worked. Now they keep turning up -on-their-own- ...... It is frustrating and there are no clear directions for troubleshooting. Sounds great though.

This is a great soundbar for any type of tv. It made my tv sound so much better and I no longer have to listen to the tinny sound. It is so clear.

The user manual, or lack thereof, is awful. It's really just a quick set up guide. We got it plugged into the TV fine and it sounds good. But there's virtually no information available online or in any documentation that describes how to hook up other devices (roku, dvd player, etc.). So this has now become our TV only setup. Disappointing.

    Polk Soundbar

This product sounds great, however it turns on sometimes all by itself and you have to hit the volume buttons a couple of times to get them to work. The price was good, but I may look at purchasing another product similar, that works consistently.

Worst product I have ever bought

    1. The sound bar continually turns itself off. During an evening of TV watching, the sound shuts off 4 or 5 times. 2. There are no instructions with it. I don’t know how I am supposed to use it, or what any of the functions do. 3. Randomly the light on the back of the square box turns to red. I think this means it needs to be reset. Although I have no idea why, how or when this happens. 4. Volume control is the worst. Sometimes I have to set my tv at 35, sometimes 12 is way too loud. 5. It takes a long time to turn on. 6-8 seconds. You miss a lot of dialogue when you have to wait that long (and since it goes off randomly and frequently, this is a big issue) 5. We bought it because when we bought the TV, they told us the sound isn’t great, but we could resolve that by buying a sound bar. Well that might be true for some sound bars, but not this Polk magnifi. The sound is no different, except I get a lot of bass. The bass does not help me understand dialogue. 6. The remote is cryptic. I don’t know what any of those buttons are supposed to do. None of them even do anything when I push them. This is the absolute worst product I have ever purchased. Even if some people gave good reviews, don’t take chances. What a complete waste of my money.
