We are sorry to hear about your experience with the XT70, there may be a few contributing factors as to why there is not as much bass as you were expecting. First is speaker placement, you may have it too close to the wall or in a corner which is trapping the bass and not allowing it to move throughout the room effectively. Second, you may want to adjust your amp settings to ensure that it is properly setup to send the full signal to the towers, in most AVRs the setting is LFE + Main to send the full signal to the tower. Please refer to your manufacturer's manual for more information on that. Third, adjust the calibration settings in your AVR to ensure that you do not have an EQ that is pulling the lower frequencies away from the tower and allow the tower's internal crossovers to handle the frequency split.
