Returned this item--took forever to hook up with our new tv. Worked great at first-for one day--and then just died--no sound at all. Do not recommend.

First, I originally purchased the Samsung j7500/za and posted a good review. Unfortunatly after two weeks, the sub went out, too bad. My B.B. did not have another one, so the rep. showed me this Polk. It was on sale for $550. This was a jump in price, but he told me they added Bluetooth and you could add speakers later. I was skeptical about the bluetooth "adaptor", but have had the unit4 days now and everything works great. I do agree that music sounds better through playfi, but I also like not depending solely on my wifi network, and I enjoy free Spotify and the Bluetooth allows me to do that. Polk did themselves a favor and threw this adaptor in and repackaged it as "sb1 Plus" I am very skeptical of syncing other speakers to create the 5.1 like the other reviewer has pointed out issues, but for now this will work and hopefully they will upgrade software to catch up to Sonos. For the life of me I cannot figure out why only one company in the world can figure out how to do networking correctly, but then again that's why they can charge over twice as much for lesser speakers. Overall, very satisfied with the sound and extra capability of this Polk and I really like the voice control, it works really well. I would really give this 4 and a half stars right now.

If you are looking for simply a loud system, this is not the right one for you--don't expect to crank it and get good performance. That said, this is a great system for watching movies and listening to music (at a reasonable level) if you also buy the rear speakers. On a side note, I almost returned the SB1+ soundbar when I first heard it before the rear speakers arrived and got to play with everything together. This system will easily fill a large room with classic, warm Polk Audio goodness. I did have to call Polk customer support to the understand how the rear speakers work with the soundbar, and the short of it is once you pair them to the soundbar you can't control them with the app any longer without going through the arduous setup process as they drop from your Wi-Fi network and connect directly to the soundbar. Personally, I think this is okay because I push all my music through Apple TV or a streaming service through TV anyway. I would buy this again for sure. I was attracted by the VoiceAdjust feature, which actually does what is claims to do, and then the system just grew on me. Last tip: turn the VoiceAdjust down when you don't need it because it does mess with the overall mix. Good features. Good sound. Good price (when on sale). There's just a bit of a learning curve.

Sound is ok. Poor remote. Over priced

Got the soundbar two weeks ago. The sound is okay. However remote is useless. It doesn’t respond at all. Sent email so far no response. Thinking about returning it. Get something with HDMI input so you can control the volume with the Tv remote. Even if you program the tv remote to control the volume it creates echo.

Love the sound from this bar but, it will not pair to my TV remote, the DTV remote, or any other device. The remote that came with it is ridiculously cheap made and hard to use. It would be nice if there was numbers or a sliding bar to show volume.

Ok for TV, Poor Music Quality

I bought this system based on the sales clerk's advice. Setup was fairly straight forward but instructions were not so great. Sound quality for tv watching was better than the speakers on my Samsung TV but I found myself constantly adjusting the bass, treble and voice enhancement settings on the remote. When streaming music to the system it sounded very thin and muffled. Not the crisp room filling sound I was looking for. I ended up returning the Polk system for a Sonos Playbar (same price). Even without the sub, the Sonos Playbar sounds so much better and is more user friendly in my opinion.

We purchased this sound bar and 2 satellite speakers 3 months ago. After spending quite a bit of time getting it set up I'm still having difficulty understanding it. Recently the remote control became flaky so when we pushed the down button the sound bar automatically goes to maximum volume. We then have to turn the volume down directly on the sound bar. We contacted tech support, who were very condescending, who said they would send out a new remote. Two weeks have gone by and no new remote. I did set up the satellite speakers for surround sound then decided to disconnect them to place them in other parts of our home. There are no instructions on how to unpair them as surround sound speakers which I finally was able to do by unplugging all the components and reinstalling everything. Tech support hours are limited and email responses just say to contact tech support during their support hours.

This soundbar is so defective it's not even funny. Makes popping and crackling noises. The app is a joke. Unfortunately I can't return it now after a month of use, I may just set it on fire.

    JUST SAY NO!

This sound bar and its software resulted in almost 4 hrs of my life gone forever with nothing to show for it! Returned it today and went with my first inclination- a comparable Bose system. I never got the Bluetooth adapter to pair up, so can’t say anything other than that on BT. As far as operablility with WiFi it took rebooting my WiFi and the unit about 4 times before I finally got it on my network. The software updates took quite some time and afterwards, there was no option to play my music like the YouTube video from the company showed in their online tutorial. That was the final straw for me, however a friend of my mine who was visiting decided she was going to fix it. SHe spent yet another hour on the phone with their tech help, who swore there was something wrong with my network or router (there isn’t) after she ‘fixed it’ the sound cut out and the lights on the sound bar would cycle between wifi pulse (aquiring signal) to flashing (trying to connect) to steady (on the network) and during that whole process the sound through the optical cable (while watching sports center) would cut out. I unplugged it, put it back in the box and promptly returned it. I had several friends who swore their Polk products were great, but honestly I found my LG 55” OLED (last year’s model) internal sound to be better than what came out of this WHEN it worked, so honestly even without the connecting issues, I would have probably returned it. Your mileage may vary. Cheers

It's a great sound bar with distinct voice controls on a remote control. Sunlbwoor is plenty powerful to give rumble while watching movies. It's really awesome sounding, crisp and clear.

    Disappointed

The sound was okay, but the bluetooth is weak, at best, and wifi is a joke. It will not stay connected even when the device is within 2 feet of the soundbar. Programming another remote to work with it was a horrible experience - first the included documentation is useless and doesn't instruct you on how to do anything. I finally found instructional videos on the Polk website which seemed to work great. However, as soon as I shut the power off, the programming went away. I had to re-program the remote every time I turned the stupid thing on. The almost gave two stars instead of one because the soundbar does put out decent sound, but overall the thing is such a pain in the neck it really only deserves one!

I love the sound quality but the set up for omni sb2 is bad. Keeps disconnecting as a music group so I have to keep connecting them if I want to listen to music. Connecting them is such a hassle because it does not find the speakers. When you try to do surround sound I only got it to work once and after that I could never get them to connect. I have tried different ways but cannot get them to work. I will most likely return this item for this issue.

    Don't Waste Your Money

First off no directions are provided, you have to get an app to run this setup which is a pain in itself to figure out, not to mention the constant back to back updates it requires before you can even use the app. The sound that comes from this setup is great..when it works. We purchased the two back speakers which rarely ever work. The subwoofer constantly goes in and out which is annoying when you're trying to watch a movie. The sound bar makes a popping noise pretty often. Don't buy, wish we had splurged on a better setup rather than wasting ~$800..

    Lousy Company!

Do not buy this product or any products from Polk. I bought an SB1 sound bar and two extra speakers (very expensive system) from Best Buy. It did not work well for very long. Polk technicians tried many things to get the sound bar working (they sent me a new power supply and that did not work). One technician said if the new power supply did not work they would just send me a new sound bar. Now they will not honor their word because the warranty has run out. The sound bar cuts out after a few minutes. My research on-line determined that this is a very common problem ....I'm sure its a defect in the product. Ironically, a Best buy employee that came to my home for another issue asked why we bought such a lousy sound system. My answer was that we bought it from Best Buy! He seemed embarrassed and did not comment further. Again, do not buy Polk products! I will spend a lot of time posting my review on as many sites as possible (as you can imagine I am very upset with this company!)
