Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You would not believe that this thing is only 100 watts. My neighbors and I are in a battle to see who can annoy the other one more on the smallest budget, I win. This thing delivers deep, powerful, dramatic bass that is sure to make you ask, "Is this really only 100 watts?" It hits harder that my brother-in-law's 300 watt Sony, and it was cheaper. The only problem is the bass port vibrates at higher volumes, nothing a pair of socks in the port couldn't fix. I only gave it 3 stars in sound quality because of this. All-in-all, this is a great sub, thank you Polk.

Better Deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this item and couldn't be happier as far as price and quality. It was on sale for $99 and the look of it was nice. Plug it in with my receiver and it was loud enough that makes everything vibrates up to my bedroom window.

Great sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My neighbors officially hate me. The primary use for my sound system is watching TV/movies. I'm using this sub in an apartment, so I actually find myself turning it down quite a bit when watching movies at night. It's paired up with a Pioneer surround receiver, and hookup was easy. One cable from the receiver to the sub, plug it into the power outlet, and I'm done. I leave the crossover and volume settings to the receiver, so that took some adjusting, but overall, it was simple. I get good solid sound out of this subwoofer. Explosions in movies vibrate my couch, and it adds overall depth to the sound in movies. I got it on sale, but even at full price I'd say it's worth the money.

Great Entry Level Subwoofer for music and movies!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This subwoofer is a great deal and performance is excellent. The subwoofer does not shake and provides the deep bass I crave when watching movies or listening to music. The controls back of subwoofer are vital on fine tuning your surround system. I have to admit I have owned various subwoofers from other brands but for this 10 inch sub its a gem that isnt discovered often. Very satisfied!

Awesome sound, awsesome price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A friend of mine bought this sub two years ago, and I loved it! I finally got one of my own, and I got it on "Black Friday" so it was only 99.99! Last one in the store! I know, I'm lucky, but even at twice the price, it's worth it! It works great in small- to medium-sized rooms. Larger rooms would require the PSW12 (12" woofer) The only reason I gave this a 4 in the power department is because... c'mon, who doesn't want more power?! But for what it is, it's the best around!

Great sub for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I bought this as a decent, cheap subwoofer for my bedroom. I thought 100 Watts would not really shake the walls in the room. I was wrong. Turn this baby up and the volume up on the receiver and you can feel the explosions and other rumblings in movies and games. There is an "Auto On" switch in the back that I do not think works as the light stays constantly green, so I think it is constantly sucking power. I wish I was able to plug it into my receiver but my receiver does not have an AC outlet. I read that some reviews are stating that the bass is distorted when turned up. I did not get this issue, even when turning up the subwoofer and volume. It is possible their receiver is sending out higher wattage than the subwoofer can handle. It is also possible that some of these individuals are passing the speakers through this subwoofer as that is another connection option. Not 100% sure if any of what I mentioned could be the cause why they are having a distorted sound as I am not getting distorted sound...and I would know as it would bug the heck out of me if it did get distorted when I wanted to listen to something loud with a lot of bass. One thing that I did not like is that there looks to be an RCA input (L/R) for the subwoofer line in. The instructions state to use a crossover or "Y" cable for this or you can just connect the subwoofer cable to either the L or R input and it would work just fine (which is what I did). Overall I like this product, but from the instructions that show the connections, I would trust the model that is one step above this just because I am not sure how connecting this sub using the "Y" cable would differ from just a direct connection...so I have a lingering "what if" question which is if this subwoofer is not performing as good as it should.

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paired this with 5 Bose® Virtually Invisible® 191 Speakers Model: 191 | SKU: 5402441 for my 5.1 surround sound. Lots of base. Needed a front firing since I mounted it in the wall and hid it behind a return air duct grate. Looks like part of the room.

Incredible value at half price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looking through the reviews before I bought this, I see that BB regularly puts it on sale at half price. It's an absolute steal at $100. Even at full price it is competitive with similar products. This is not my first SW, but it's the first one that really gave me a floor-trembling, full-on home theater experience. I got it just before Christmas and ran home to watch Polar Express. It handled that house-rattling train well beyond my expectations. I'd buy it again without hesitation. Don't forget to get a long enough RCA cable, if that's your connection.

This has amazing sound!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this because it was on sale for only $99 regular $199 and when I hooked it up to my receiver the bass was amazing. It's small enough to put it in a small area. I would highly recommended this to anyone looking to not spend a lot of money but to get really good sound.

Polk psw10 subwoofer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have two in a 5.2 system and could not be happier, these are couppled with two elac towers center channel and two book shelf speakers, marantz 7011 (per amp duty) a emotiva 5 channel amp and these subs hold their own in my bed room set up, was even better catching them on sale, not boomy but nice and tight ( played with placement) and evenly distributed throu out the room, good with music and movies, thinking of setting up my work space with a 2.2 and pairing them with some def-tech speakers ( bp-8s ) i have in the garage gathering dust

Amazing!!!!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this sub is amazing for the price, can fine tune all the settings easily. the only complaint is it does have a limit to the bass when listening to the music, but if you keep the power at about half way it will hit harder than any other sub at this price. does and amazing job with movies.

Great value sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I just upgraded my center and rears so I decided that I needed a new sub as well. I decided on this Polk because of the reviews and price. I spent some money on a Def Tech center and Energy rears so I was a little price shy. For the sale price I paid, I am very pleased with the sub. It ties in my front Polk monitor 60s and Energy rears nicely. It sounds great with movies and music. It's not the best sub but you get what you pay for. It can get boomy and distorted at times. You have to keep the volume at half to prevent this. This is fine for me because its more than enough bass. I live in a town home with a decent front room and it shakes the walls. Like I said you won't get tight bass at high volumes but this sub isn't $700 either. I recommend it for a medium to large room.

Impressive sub.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this a couple days ago and I'm blown away. Replaced a 15 year old MTX monster that I thought was pretty decent. The PSW10 is smaller but packs way more punch. Clean and tight - makes every speaker in my system sound better...especially my Boston Acoustics center I just got six weeks ago. Crazy. My wife has even noticed the change...and she never notices any changes in the home theater. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Great Sub!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this sub hooked up to a sony str500. This sub does not have a lfe input. you should run a digital rca cable from the receiver sub out with a y adapter to this sub (1female rca to 2 male rca)So get all that b4 you leave the store. The sound this unit produces is very good. It handles the lower freq. very well. I live in an apt. so I don't need much. I like the fact it has a volume control as well as freq adjustment on the back. Note that when you do hook it up the manuf. suggests you turn the freq gain to the far right. this will capture all lower frequencies that the sub receives since it does not have lfe input. Great product overall it was what I expected from Polk.

Polk Audio does it again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a sony 8 inch sub that distorts and you could never hear at crucial points in a movie. Typical of Polk Audio cheap prices and oustanding products. I have this sub being pumped by a Pioneer Elite reciever and no distortion at high volumes. This sub for the price is well worth it and i would not buy a high end sub with the way this one sounds.

Blends well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a decent sub within a tight budget that would compliment some much more expensive speakers that have amazing clarity in the mid to upper range. (Penn Audio). Since my kids bought me this for Christmas I'm obliged to use it as it fell within their budget. My expectations were "okay, it's a Polk speaker, how bad can it be?" To my utter amazement this little baby adds great depth to the overall sound without any fuzzy, thumpy, or muddy, effects.

Unbeatable for the money spent on it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sub on the Black Friday sale to replace an existing KLH Audio sub that I have had for years now. I have Infinity Primus 360 Main Speakers, an Infinity Primus PC251 Center Channel and the KLH Surrounds for the side and rear surrrounds of the 7.1 system. I am powering those with a Sony STR-DG910 receiver I bought on a closeout when Circuit City closed up. With this sub I have deeper and fuller bass sound than I previously had. It looks somewhat like the Infinity speakers with the black cloth face on and is a great deal at under one hundred dollars. I can also add to it with the KLH sub in the rear of the room.
