What the h is an "lfe" input? RCA cables are the way to hook this up and you don't need to get a Y connector it won't make any difference. You can if you want but you won't hear any difference in the sound. It is not stereo it is mono.

Had this for about 24 hours and I am very happy with it. I am still tweaking some of the settings, but overall I could not be happier. It is a nice addition to my setup. If you are buying this from Best Buy use the price match and find it at amazon or newegg. It consistently sells for 99 and has gone as low as 79.

great sub but not good enough for me

The Polk PSW10 sounds great at lower volumes but distorted easily if I turned my receivers volume pass the half way point. The bass was boomy and not as tight as I hoped it would be. It would probably be better in a smaller room that doesn't require much volume.

This is a good sub but a little challenging to hook up with no LFE input. The PSW110 is twice as powerful and was only $25 more, which is why I returned the PSW10.

Where to start. I purchased this sub about 2 week ago. I got it home and connected it to my Onkyo 7.1 channel receiver. Setup was easy. That's the only good thing I have to say about this sub. The first thing I noticed was the horrible distortion and port noise at only half volume. I tried adjusting the crossover, but that didn't help. I even tried plugging the port. This helped, but still didn't stop the distortion problem. Sadly I will be returning the sub tomorrow, and purchasing the Klispch 10 in. Model.I really don't want the hassle of having to load this thing up and return it, but I have No choice. I'm very disappointed in Polk Audio for manufacturing such a poor product.

This was an 'out-of-box' special but would have been a great buy at the regular price. Very satisfied!

Bought this hoping to find a low price deal for a budget system and ended up returning it to the store the next day. Besides the fact that the $200 price tag turned out to be $100 more than a nearby competitor AND lots of places online, the sound was just bad. Barely audible at low volumes and at higher volumes all I could hear was port turbulence (the sound of the air coming out of the port). It literally drowned out the bass. Brought it back and replaced it with a Pioneer SW601 (from a competitor) which blows the Polk out of the water without breaking a sweat. Unless you are desparate for a sub, pass on this one. And Best Buy - Either pull this from the shelf or get competitive with the pricing. $199 is ridiculous when almost everywhere else has it for $99.

I purchased this sub and took it back after a few days.. I found it to be harsh and abrupt...there was nothing smooth about it at all. It reminded me of those darn cars driving down the street pumping the bass and all you get is vibration and BOOM! I took it back and purchased the $99 Sony....don't let the price fool you. The Sony was a lot more blending and smooth..nice bottom end.

After seeing this subwoofer on sale I immediately bought it expecting a decent quality of bass. Once installed, I immediately returned it after 3 hour of tinkering with my receiver settings. The bottom line was that any tv shows that had any subtle bass sounded really bad and was unacceptable.

    Junk

I read the other reviews and just thought the few that said it was bad must be some what wrong. The fact is it is junk! I took it out of the box and used it once for about 6 hours before I put it back into the box. I tried to make it sound good but the only way was to turn it so low it was almost off! HA! I can't even hear or feel the base when I turn up my theater unit. Trust me I turned it on and off and nobody could tell when it was on or off. When I turn off all the other speaker but the sub, I found it sounds just like a cheap car sub from the outside of the car. I mean a bunch of bad sound and trunk noise, not clean at all! Save your money! Hey, I got mine for half price and feel I over paid. If you pay more than $30 for it you will be mad. It does make a nice cup holder!

Ok....I bought this for 200$ . set it up and alls this speaker does is distort. you can't turn it up on the back dial or it vibrates and distorts. It sounds like its gonna blow. For 200$ and being a Polk i thought this would knock my socks off. It distorted at low volumes as well as high . and if you adjusted the bass so it wouldn't distort it was like having no bass. This powered sub is a joke. please save an extra hundred or 2 and buy something better . Thats what I did. I returned mine and bought a Klipsch 10" 400 watt sub and that thing is awesome. clean clear undistorded , extended booms , boomy i could go on and on but steer clear of this polk sub. this sub is good for a girl who listens to movies low.
