I like this woofer. I used it in addition to a Yamaha soundbar I have. Really shakes me room, giving added depth to movies and music. I recommend it.

I was pleasantly surprized. Being priced very mildly, subwoofer has very soft deep bass. Recommend this model to everyone.

Great upgrade over some home theatre in a box subs, but lacks the refinement of a decent subwoofer. For the price, difficult to beat unless you look at a BIC sub.

Bought this sub about a year ago. It looks nice and sounds nice. Didn't really have the power volume that I wanted. The plastic cover sucks so I removed that. To get the better sound out of this sub, you need to remove the sub from the case and take out the fiber glass that the power wire is wrapped in. Take off the old wiring inside and upgrade it to a little bit thicker monster cable wire. I believe I used 8 or 10 gauge wire. Then put the sub back in the box. Make sure to be careful with the bolts, cause they strip easily. Overall very good sub for the money, especially when you enhance it.

Speaker level input a great feature

I've had this unit for about 2 months now. The PSW10 is a great Subwoofer for the price. It supports a high level or speaker level input connection from a receiver or amplifier not found in most Subwoofers. Using a traditional two channel amplifier w/o a Subwoofer output connection made this feature a must. All it requires is to connect the unit to the "B" speaker pair output on my receiver. This allowed me to supplement the low bass output produced from my vintage Polk RTA12B floor speakers that I found lacking from what I concluded is my current receiver's inability to drive these large speakers effectively at the low end of the audible frequency range. I set the Subwoofers variable volume at about 1/3 and the extra kick provided sounds smooth and seamless in working with the main speakers. The price was great, the hook-up easy, the shipping fast, the sound quality is very good, and the unit arrived in perfect working condition. Completely satisfied.

    It was a good deal

I purchased this sub several months ago, and at the time I guess it was 50% off. I only paid $99.99. I had initially gone in to get a Sony. I think the model was WA-2500. However, for the same price I could get Polk Audio's name. So, being somewhat label conscious, I sprung for the PSW10. My receiver is a Pioneer VSX-819H-K. The subwoofer connection is a single RCA plug, so I had to purchase a a Y-split RCA cable to connect to the L-R ports on the back of the PSW10. Using the MCACC to automatically calibrate the subwoofer with my rather pathetic, HTIB satellite speakers, everything sounded good. No complaints at all. Even with my dated Sony speakers, DTS-HD sounded great. Then, I read online that sound quality could be improved if you connected the front speakers through the line inputs on the back of the PSW10. I'm not an audiophile, but I do take interest in Home Audio equipment. However, being nonethewiser, I connected the speakers, but left the Y-split cable connected also. More recently, I read that in order to fully accomplish the improvement of sound that I was going for, I needed to disconnect the RCA cable, disable the subwoofer through the receiver's speaker setup, and set my speaker size to 'Large'. Since then, however, I've struggled to find that sweet spot which gives me enough bass for movies AND music. My Sony speakers still sound fine, but the PSW10 at times sounds boomy or sloppy, with lots of port noise. Perhaps the issue lies in the fact that my speakers have a low sensitivity and require higher volume for comfortable listening, therefore causing me to overpower the subwoofer. This is the assumption I am operating under, since I had been completely happy with the PSW10 before I decided to mess with the settings. I am currently waiting for a full set of five Polk speakers to arrive so that I can test my hypothesis and finally have an excuse to get rid of my old HTIB speakers. I have had no other complaints about this device. It is built solid with a stylish design. The feet are sturdy and adjustable for uneven flooring. The grill does NOT rattle at the volume I use for comfortable listening. Although the grill pins are plastic, they are secure. Another phenomenon which I have not experienced is the "click" of the PSW10 turning on and off, while on the automatic/power saving mode. My only excuses for dissatisfaction are most likely rooted in my own overzealousness. I have no problem admitting that. Bottom line, I definitely would not pay $200 for this, but for the $99 deal I managed to snag, this is a great entry-level subwoofer with surprisingly high highs, and when setup properly, voluminous lows. I would furthermore only recommend the PSW10 for a small- to mid-size room setup. There are definitely better products out there, even within the Polk brand, but for my small, budget setup, this is totally capable of holding up the low end of the sound spectrum.

    Grat sub for the mone

Once my DIY bandpass sub gave up the ghost, I contemplated finding the right replacement driver or a cheap temporary active sub-woofer. I was very pleasantly surprised with this little sub. I am driving a line level input through it and using the on board crossover set to around 120 HZ. the bandpass sub was stashed behind my entertainment racks but honestly this one is cute so I left it out in the room to corner load. I am a recording musician also and I find that when I play back my DAW-recorded 4 string bass tracks (Low E = 42 Hz) it sounds very natural and not stressed (I'm not claiming this to be pro audio, however - just for lower volume monitoring!). Movies and music sound natural and full. This is no longer a temporary replacement - I've lost interest in fixing my DIY sub altogether! Buy this, just remember that a sub-woofer is intended to add low end feel that is hard to localize. Some users don't get that. This sub, set properly, is a delight.

    A powerful and clean Sub-Woofer

OK, it is hard to get excited about a sub-woofer. Yeah, but, my old old one died and I needed a replacement. My needs are to fill a modest sized room with big booming bass from action movies. I'm not much into music, so my basis of reviewing is how it performs during Blu-Ray movie playback. Too much bass is not a good thing. Being able to set the cross-over with my main sound system is important. I have found tweeking the sub-woofer higher in the cross-over range helps my overall sound quality. Keeping the volume relatively low keeps the overall sound clean. Bottom line, I am very happy with the size, shape, color, look, sound and performance of this new sub-woofer. I do recommend it. (Although the termites in the floor are probably now probably deaf.)

    Can't beat it at $129

I bought this sub almost 5yrs ago at this point at roughly the same price still around $129.99. At that price point, I don't think you can get a better sub. This thing is still going strong, still shakes the floor and is still pretty good with music. We were watching Blade Runner 2049 and that opening sequence with that long deep rumbling bass? Just wow. The only thing that's been broken so far, was my mum moved it while cleaning and somehow broke off one of the legs, they're not the best built speakers but at the price point? I'll take it.

I have a 7.2 surround sound setup in my living room, and I have to say, this rumbles the floor, walls, and couches. It is a beast when it comes to music. I can pump the volume up and hear the bass roar. Movies are so much better with this sub. Pair it with a Sony STRDN1040 and you are set. I have in roof speakers and set combining a center channel, and two standing speakers. All made by Polk. It rocks the house!! Highly recommend!

Bought this on black friday sale and am I glad I got it. For the money its a excellent sub. I started playing HALO ANNIVERY EDITION on my 55 in. TV and all the bullets and explosions really popped out with this sub. I felt like all the action was going on in my living room. The Bass in Music really stood out and added that perfect ooomph that I wanted. I am really happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend it.

I managed to get this nearly half off on a price match deal. For what I paid, it's well worth it. I only have the gain turned up about 40%, and it's enough bass. It rattles the windows! It's small enough too that I was able to hide it under an end table. Good sub, good price.

    KILLER SUB FOR THE PRICE!

I purchased this sub to replace an Acoustic Research sub. This sub is without a doubt a lot better then the one I replaced. I am using it with an Onkyo 7.1 receiver, A Bose VCS-10 center channel, Bose 301's for fronts and Bose 141's for surrounds. NOW I have a killer set up! This sub is easy to hook up and it does rattle the windows! The only thing I can say is go ahead and buy one, you WILL NOT be disapointed with the sound or the appearance!
