I'm not Wowed

I read a lot of good reviews, hence the purchase but the connection to the TV hasn't been the smoothest. Be it using an optical cable or HDMI, I've had to always turn it on manually. With the HDMI, it should auto come up as the TV does but this isn't the case. I've ensured HDMI is correctly plugged in to the ARC one, I've changed HDMI cables several times but no luck. To be fair, Sound quality is there, but integration with other devices are my painpoints.
