Customers are saying

Customers highly value the Signa S2's sound quality, bass, and ease of use, frequently praising its impressive audio performance and user-friendly features. Many also appreciate the soundbar's compact size and affordable price point. While some users suggest improvements to the remote control and the lack of a display, the positive feedback on the sound and ease of setup outweighs these minor drawbacks. The Bluetooth connectivity is also a frequently cited advantage.

Great product for the price. I bought it as a gift for my son and was happy to see that set up was fairly straight forward and sound was better than expected for the price. I like the slim low profile design for sitting in front of a large screen.

I took plenty of time to use this sound bar before reviewing it. I purchased this Polk model for two reasons. I have had great experience with Polk speakers. My stereo uses 4 Polk speakers and they have performed beautifully for many years. I read the reviews of this model which earned 4+ stars. I don't need surround sound so this fits my needs very well. The sound is excellent and it is easy to put together. The subwoofer packs plenty of punch and the treble and midrange are accurate and suited for a variety of programming. It sounds really good with movies and the voices don't get lost in the mix. I certainly could have spent thousands more, but this works beautifully for my budget and living room environment.

I've been looking at soundbars off and on for several years now. I've been running my classic 40+ year old Bose 301 speakers and Pioneer HPM-60 speakers thru a 10 year old Onkyo amp and it was good, but due to no center channel, dialogue was a real issue. Finally bit the bullet on this one and am very happy with it. The separate sub woofer does an admirable job of reproducing bass. After disconnecting my 10" Pioneers I was worried, but this little thing comes pretty close! More than enough volume for my old (60+ year) ears. The 3 levels of dialogue enhancement are "okay" but not quite as crisp as I'd hoped for, but they DO help. Can't give it 5 stars due to the fact that there's no indication of volume level to be seen anywhere (miss that on my old Onkyo amp) and you DO have to be pointing the remote right at the front of the sound bar for it to work, so that's a bit annoying. But a very nice entry level bar.

I'm pretty blown away with how good this system sounds. I was not expecting how rich the sound is and how deep the remote sub gets without having to push it. I have an ARC capable Sony TV, and had no trouble getting things working using the supplied HDMI cable in the ARC port. Didn't need to hook up the optical cable. Sub connected via Bluetooth and no hiccups or disconnects. The only very minor complaint is that it takes about 10 to 15 seconds each power up for the TV and soundbar to recognize each other and connect, neither seems to "remember" the last configuration. I can now understand thick accents when I watch a Brit show! Very happy with the purchase.

For $150, this soundbar is hard to beat. It has much better voice clarity than a more expensive Yamaha soundbar it replaces and a smaller footprint as well. The highs can be a bit on the tinny side when playing music but not detrimentally so, for me at least. The previous Yamaha bar was very muddy and I would rather have it clear and borderline tinny than the other way. So far, I have had zero connection problems, the sub connected first time every time. The bar comes on and shuts off when any device (TV,DVD, DVR) is activated thru my eArc TV input and Bluetooth from my Apple phone has been flawless. So far, I'm a happy customer!

Great Sound. Terrific bass. Easy to set up. Works with other Bluetooth devices so you can play iTunes without a "music stereo system". Seems durable at a great entry-level price. Sound that you would expect from a higher-priced soundbar.

Great sound improvement to our new tv. Easy to install. It is low profile and just fits underneath our tv on the stand. I was worried about the wireless subwoofer but it works well. You cannot beat the quality at this price.

Best Sounding Soundbar in the Price Range

I was in the market for a new soundbar as my old Samsung system was starting to have sound go in and out and crackle. Checking out the deals, I was set on buying a Samsung soundbar to compliment my samsung tv. The samsung soundbar retailed for $280 and was on sale for $140. The deal seemed great. I went in store and decided to test the different sound bars just to confirm my gut feeling. When I tested the Polk Soundbar, it blew away the Samsung soundbar. The bass was more rich and thick and the sound was crystal clear. Although the samsung soundbar sounded good, it definitely lacked in a full sound and the subwoofer fell a little flat. I have an old polk audio soundbar in my bedroom and it sounds great so I know the product is built to last. I asked a sales associate for his thoughts and he said Polk Audio will be the better choice at that price range.

Pro: Very easy to setup. Very inconspicuous size bar. Sounds great for the price. Con: With some sources the dialog/background levels aren't great. Volume adjustment could be finer. No visual indication of settings makes it hard to know what changes you've made via remote.

Tons of bass, if you want it, love it for action. We bought this for the amazing speech 3x presets and night mode, which is great for those non action movies/late nights. The modes on this are really helpful. This unit can be super loud room shaker, using ARC, we do not turn it up pass 60 ever. Amazing quality vs our old soundbar... I can actually understand what they are saying now in any setting without having to blast it. Connecting my phone on the weekends for music is great too. Compare it to some of those more expensive models on the floor, buy this instead. We are still surprised on the price and laugh at those $400+ unit when walking by.

I bought these speakers to pair with a TV and they make a great addition to the home movies. I don't experience much (pseudo) surround sound but I didn't really expect it. The main thing is the bigger bass which really adds to the viewing experience for movies with lots of effects (think Star Wars). Blue tooth pairing to my phone worked easily. The sound in the upper registers is not as rich as I'd like (I have a Bose system elsewhere in the house) but certainly adequate for background music or for a dance party. Also, the voice highlighting settings work well for bringing out dialog/lyrics if you are struggling to hear those details.

This sound bar is my very first sound bar, and I don't think I could ever go back to standard television sound. The Polk Audio Signa S2 is a wonderful sound bar at a great price point. My partner and I sampled a lot of sound bars in a Best Buy store before landing on this one, and we are very pleased with our decision. Pros: - Excellent audio quality (We normally use Film Mode for clear dialogue and theatre-like sound) - Low profile, sleek design - Bluetooth for listening to music Cons: - Sometimes the sound bar disconnects on its own after being idle. I just turn it back on, no big deal. - I wished there was some kind of visual interface so I could fine tune my sound settings. I often feel I'm just guessing while fiddling with the remote.

This is an excellent sound bar. I have been using this for over a year now and was so impressed with the features and sound quality that I bought another one. The sound is amazing with the way you can change the the levels to bring in more voice, set different preset features for movies or music, raise and lower the bass, which is a great feature you don’t get on all sound bars. The remote is well payed out and works well. The set up is a breeze with just one HDMI cable and connection to the included sub woofer was flawless. Overall I would recommend this for a nice and inexpensive upgrade. Best sounder with best features for the money that I have found.

I've known of Polk Audio for more than 40 years. This system lives up to their long standing reputation. Easy to "mate" with my laptop. It connects easily via Bluetooth. We generally use it in a room 20X20 feet. It fills the room with clear un-distorted sound at surprisingly loud volumes. The bass is "tight" considering the size of the "driver". Placement of the sub-woofer is critical for maximum bass response. Experiment with different locations. The sub-woofer connects automatically (remotely) when the system is turned on. The remote control allows the user to select 3 levels of "voice", so even when there is significant background noise (when watching a movie) you have the ability to increase the level of the voices.

I picked this up for my bedroom TV. My room is about 450sq ft with vaulted ceilings. I paired it with a Samsung 55” 4K TV and for the size of the room, height of the ceiling and distance from the bed to the TV at about 12’ This works perfectly. The sound is perfect for the room and with the wireless base it hits perfectly. The sound bar covers the mid’s and high’s perfectly. It was easy to hook up and had it all dialed in about 5 minutes. The reason I chose the Polk Audio is because my main surround sound system is a Pioneer receiver and Polk Audio Speakers and Bass. I have had it for several years and it still preforms flawlessly. I am a big fan and I would highly recommend.

After going to different stores, read reviews, comparing watts, audio quality and features for over a week, I ended up with the Polk Signa S2! Small bar with small woofer that is good enough to fill almost any size room with very good audio quality from this small form factor speakers. I was trying to decide from Bose Solo to Samsung, LG and even JBL but for the price range this can easily beat anything under $300 from any brand so you get double for your bucks worth of quality. Polk quality is comparable to any high end. Don't forget to get the extended plan from Best Buy, hassle free to deal with any claim!

Bought this as a gift and helped them set it up. Setup really easy and came with all the cables needed included a hdmi arc and optical sound. Huge improvement over the standard speakers that new TVs come with. The voice dialogue feature is really nice and no longer need to use subtitles. Sounds quality is crisp, clear and doesn't distort when cranked up. The wireless subwoofer is nice to give you flexibility where you want it. Bluetooth works flawless and pairs easily with devices. Overall great affordable sound bar.

It isn't the most powerful system, but then I knew that and wasn't trying to buy the most powerful. That being said, it is a solid system for a small space where you can't do 5.1 or 7.1. One complaint is the length of time to start up. If there is a way to have it start when your TV audio starts that would be great but I haven't found that and so you have to press it's own power button and it takes between 5 and 10 seconds to produce your audio. This is contrasted to my Vizio bar that started when you pressed the volume button and would instantly produce sound when you pressed the volume a second time. I am happy with it and its discreet size and styling. The subwoofer isn't overpowering but it is ample for a small space.

Polk audio has always had my respect. If the Sigma S 2 doesn’t impress you , you either hooked it up wrong or nothing will impress you. For a sound bar 2.1 system this is in a class by itself! TV dialogue is clear, and tv sound in general greatly improved. But put on an action movie and that is where this thing really shines. Most sound bars in this price range have boomy bass . The Polk Sigma S2 has punchy and well defined bass and mid bass. Midrange and Treble are clear and well defined. With levels at movie theater levels, plays loud without distortion . Yes you can get better sound with a dedicated 5.1 , 7.1, etc. system and fill a room with speakers. But for under $200 , no.
