I upgraded to these from polk tsi100's for my front left and right speakers on a half price deal. I am very impressed with these speakers and how they blend into my system. They sound amazing with music and with movies.

These speakers have added so much clarity and depth to the sound of movies. Rain drops, squeaking basketball players shoes, punches from a boxing match and bullets whizzing by on an action movie. So glad I upgraded. GET THESE!!!

Bought these Polk T50 speakers for rear surround speakers. Have used as front speakers as well in a smaller audio system. These sound smooth, well detailed and balanced. Would highly recommend.

I was looking to upgrade from my expensive Sony soundbar, which broke down after a few months. Came upon these speakers and they sound amazing for the price! Would recommend to anyone who doesn't have a big budget for audio components.

I bought these for my parents for use with their TV. They were quick and easy to connect and provide great sound. Great option where you don't have room for a sound bar and works without any other speakers or special connections.

If you still love that loud system to listen to movies or music these speakers are it. Way better than just book shelf or small surround speakers. My living room sounds like a movie theater!!

I upgraded my existing 7.1 Surround System with a pair of these plus the S35 Center Channel. Polk quality doesn’t disappoint. Excellent compliment to my other Polk speakers.

I like Polk, never had anything bad to say about them. I have a 5.1 surround sound system and it does the job. I got them for half price so it was well worth it. The one drawback is only the TOP WOOFER IS POWERED! The other two are passive radiators or "dummy" woofers. But they look great and sound good. Great for a beginner audio system.

Polk is one of those admirable companies that sells both high-end speakers that cost as much as a nice used car, and, a reputable basic speaker like this for the mere price of a couple tanks of gasoline. Like the doctor's Hippocratic oath, these speakers "first do no harm" and likely will be an upgrade to 90% of the speakers sold with "compact" or "mini" audio/video systems in the last 15 years. These are frequently on sale for $200 a PAIR, a ridiculously low price for a speaker this size, volume, and quality in 2017. And the don't need a huge wattage amp to get good sound and bass from these. Your audio nut friend who spends $2,000+ on a speaker won't love these, but, he/she will still respect them for the sound they make at such a low price. ...and that same audio nut might even buy a pair for their secondary system, office system, etc. Whatever minor audio offenses these might create under super-critical listening conditions is negated by bargain price. You can't touch these without spending 2-3 times this price.

This review is for the dying art of listening to music in the T50 with no subwoofer, in a small place. Do not get me wrong. Ive had plenty of Polk speakers over years. From Subwoofers to center speakers and Satellites. I used to sell Polk in Circuit City for years. Strong bass performance in their towers, a durable speaker (yes, they were.bigger). Back then Polk, Infinity, Boston Acoustics, DCM used to be the bread and butter in tower speakers. This start up model T50 with 150 watts is good. But having 3 6.5 smaller bass drivers that go down to 40hz really hamper the low tones. However, this seems to be the deal all across their speaker lines even on their high end. In other words: you want bass, you need a subwoofer. Back 20 years, Tower speakers handled themselves well, standing alone for music. You had bigger drivers. 8 to 10 inch on their entry lines. These days Towers are smaller (cause lets face it, people are becoming minimalists) more so with speakers and electronics. Bose (whom I also worked for) cracked the "small sounds BIG" speaker. However, even I had to admit that bass was missing in their stereo cubes for some music performance.(Their great 701 powered speakers were amazing but went like the dodo in early 2000's, shame, really) This is the case here. Now im not talking about blasting lows like in hip hop or classical music lows which are cleaner. Im talking regular well recorded (yeah right) top 40 or clean electronic edm or classic rock or jazz. Without a sub, its not gonna get to where you say...ahh much better! But $149 dollars..Its not bad at all. Thats all I can afford, but back then $150 per speaker gave you bigger bass at a cost: Space. These T50, They dont occupy a lot of space (I have a small place think small 1/1 apartment. But in a larger place ,you may need bigger or With better drivers and subwoofer. Granted, I have not heard Polk other speakers, but last time I checked, physics and acoustics being still the same: You can use engineering and technology to create new ways to perform better bass sound without a bigger enclosure. But bigger in this case might be better or add a sub, which for music, for my taste, takes more speakers, space and bass that is not direct.
So if you like to listen to music old schooI like I do, illl shut up and say:
A little bigger please.

I listened to the S series floor standing speakers and for less money these had a better sound. When I hooked them up I was floored by the warm, rich sound they produced.

We bought these to replace an older set of Klipsch speakers and we were pleasantly surprised with the high quality sound. Just as good or better than the Klipsch set we had at a much more reasonable price.

I was doing research on a 5.1 set up and these were listed as great speakers to get. I read the reviews and have to say everyone has nailed it. These speakers are amazing and i absolutely love them. Highly recommend them.
