Customers are saying
Customers admire the T50 150 Watt Home Theater Floor Standing Tower Speaker's exceptional sound quality, encompassing impressive bass and crisp highs. Many appreciate its stylish design, ease of use, and the value for its price. While some noted that the power output might not suit all needs and there were a few reports of minor issues with the grill, the overwhelmingly positive feedback points to a well-received product.

GREAT FOR THE PRICE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these on 06/24/18. They are about 40w larger than the two Onkyo speakers I had in my home theater in the front the past 10 years. They are great. I have a Panasonic receiver with Dolby Atmos and these speakers handle it no problem so far. If you buy these and have the blu ray put on The Greatest Showman and listen to the Never Enough scene which is a slow song with a lot of background music that swells at the end. You will never give these speakers back. Good price and great sound.

Nice cabinet..Good low to mid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lets cut right to the chase. For me the Sony Core speakers have better sound overall. I appreciate the crisp clear highs of the Sony Core tower speakers. The Polk speakers have better depth and fullness. The Polk just sound muffled compared to the Sony Core towers. That being said the Polk's cabinets are far superior to the Sony cabinets. Nicer looking, better build feel, better grills, smaller footprint. They are essentially the same size speaker tower but Sony chose a bigger base of cheaper material. I kept the Polk t50 over the Sony Core.

Great Value, Not So Great Sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking to replace my vintage Mach I speakers with some smaller towers. After reading many positive professional and user online reviews, it looked like the Polk T50s would fit that sweet spot of price versus performance. I bought a pair on sale at Best Buy and connected them to my 80W receiver so I could do an A-B comparison with my current speakers. I fully expected that the Polk T50s may not sound as accurate as the Mach I speakers (15" woofer, multicellular mid horn, bullet tweeter) but was disappointed to find that the Polk T50s didn't even sound as good as some smaller bookshelf speakers I had, or even my desktop computer Altec system. I listen to vocal music and the Polks made the vocals sound hollow. Being an audio engineer, I suspected that the Polk T50s had a nasty peak around 1kHz, so I checked with a spectrum analyzer and sure enough, there was a peak there. I found an online review that included a frequency response graph and is also showed the peak. Such a peak makes the vocals sound behind the music, as if the singer was singing through a hollow tube. To verify my "ears" and measurements, I asked my wife to listen to a few A-B comparisons and she easily found the Polk t50s to sound worse in each comparison. I went back to Best Buy and bought the Sony SSCS3 towers (almost twice the price) and connected them to my system for a comparison. The Sony SSCS3 towers sounded much better than the Polk T50s and almost as good as the Mach 1 speakers. To me, the Sony SSCS3 towers are well worth the difference in price. I kept them and returned the Polk T50s. I wish Best Buy would set up the Sony, Klipsch and Polk speakers so you could do a direct comparison with the same source material. I found such a setup at one Best Buy, but it wasn't working correctly and didn't have the Sony towers hooked up. In all the other stores, they have separate displays for the three brands. Even better would be for Best Buy to include the Sony, Klkpsch and Polk speakers in their Magnolia rooms. Being able to properly audition speakers would have saved me the trouble of buying the Polks only to return them. I rated the Polk T50s three stars because those that use them for home theater audio or who listen to electronic, metal and other compressed music may not find the sound objectionable. So, if price is a concern, you may want to try a set to see if you are okay with the sound. Obviously, based on the many positive reviews here on Best Buy, a lot of people are fine with the T50s. Just be ready to return them and try other speakers if you aren't happy with the sound.

buy them you cant go wrong
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't surprised by these speakers as I have owned Polk audio car speakers in the past and have loved them. Paired these with a Marantz NR1200 stereo receiver and an old JBL 10" 100w powered sub that has a Rockford Fosgate replacement speaker in it with great results. You can buy better but I didn't need to and I don't think you will either.

Awesome speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time to purchase polk, and was worried about quality of speaker for the price. I purchased the open box and was told they would be in excellent condition. 2 days later speakers arrived and looked new and sound amazing. I'm so glad I went with polk, the quality is outstanding and these 150 watt speakers sound great next to my tv.

Average
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a pair of T50's today and tried them out with a decent Denon receiver (the store I bought them from was of the compact type and didn't have any speakers ready for sampling as do the larger stores). They always say that one shalt not buy speakers without listening to them, and I suppose that here we have an example. Average frequency response, light-weight, good looking - the summary. Will be returning tomorrow and heading for Craigslist for some used proper two channel units. But hey - for $99 apiece you get 3rd world sound that could be worse, but my tapped-out 1990's JBL Northridge pair were 1/3 the size, twice the weight, and sound FAR better. You get what you pay for and could probably achieve the same result with a no-name Ebay pair for the same money. If you have $200 + tax to spend and want the convenience of a short drive instead of an internet hassle, expect nothing special, these are for you. But not if you expect a quality Asian reiteration of a quality product from an established brand. Keep looking.

Don't let your "but" get in the way...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....of buying what could be the beginning of a beautiful, lasting and pretty inexpensive relationship with music and home theater sound. These speakers are by far the best value for your hard, or not so hard earned money. Sound is on par with much more expensive speakers.

Worth the cost if you can find them on sale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got these on sale from $74.00 at that price, I couldn't have expected more. One thing I noticed, when playing them next to my over 25 year old speakers. I had to flatten the EQ Settings as the tweeters on these are super sensitive. I personally consider that a good thing, considering, it helps to clean up the mids and lows. However I think many get these speakers confused because you see 3 set of drivers. No! There is only one driver! And it is working double duty producing Mid's and Lows. It's doing a good job, but don't fool yourself into thinking it has a full, mid and sub. If you really want to get best out of these speakers. You might want to consider adding a sub to compliment the speakers. But for the price. You can't go wrong.

Good price for entry level speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They sound good for the price. Problem they have somewhat weak highs and the bass is a little weak. Still not bad for $100. I will be buying a sub woofer in the near future to take care of the bass. I have a 10 band equalizer that took care of the highs problem.

Excellent Floor Stand Speakers for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Polk equipment, and when I found this amazing deal for these floor stand speakers I jumped on it. For their "low end" stuff these are very nicely made speaks. With dual 6.5" and a 1" twitter, they produce amazing sounds. Great for a small room. Shouldn't be used for anything over 150 Watts. Excellent price!
