I loved the original trilogy and glady got this gem

This remake definitely doesn't have the same creep factor that the original had. There were a few things that made it watchable but overall it's just okay.

Not a $10 movie, but got for $7 in 3D on Black Friday. Definitely not up to the Poltergeist franchise standards, but still relatively good for a movie.

This remake is definitely a step back from the original. Cast was good, but not as riveting as Spielberg's version. Glad I didnt pay to see it in theaters.

Scary good remake although the original was better

when i read that sam raime has some kind of role in this, i thought yes! however, the movie was just ok, there was nothing that captured me and the acting was subpar.

It's rare for a horror movie remake to be good, and luckily Poltergeist is one of the exceptions. Not as good as the original, of course.

This movie was worth the price of 4.99, but to be honest I don't know if I would have been willing to pay much more then $10 tops. It's good, but I've seen better.

If you know nothing of the original movie then you might find this story interesting. However, in comparison to the original, this version does not provide any back story information about the family, community or poltergeists that the original did. Some of the special effects are nice but the skin peeling and meat crawling across the counter scenes from the original were better. It seems like the movie was rushed to production and the finer elements of the story were omitted.

Yet another franchise that probably should've been left alone. This 2015 remake of Poltergeist just doesn't deliver the scares or feeling of sinister dread the original had. Maybe it's the CGI, maybe it's the fact that we've seen this all before–but whatever the case, this one just falls short. However, there are worse ghost movies out there...so if you're curious, don't hesitate to pick this one up if you find it on the cheap. It's fun to compare it to the original at least.

this movie isn't horrible, but there's nothing that great about it either.... It's not a movie for true horror fans, but it's a decent escape from everyday life.
