The original is a better movie. Remaking the movies for a new generation, not a better generation, is never good. Toned down for simple minded folks.

This movie was ok,but not as great as the original film. I really didn't like how they changed up some of the characters. I felt they focused to much on the boy.

Currently, I have not had an opportunity to review my purchase. However, like other 3D movies I've purchased at Best Buy, I'm sure I will not be disappointed.

Updated movie, upgraded special effects, but still missing the magic of the original. This is a watchable movie for sure, but I definitely prefer the original.

Not good not horrible. Poltergeist is one of those movies that will come and go with no harm to the original. If you had to choose, choose the original.

I saw the original back in the 80's This reincarnation of a true scary movie does the original justice. I was so terrified I watched this one with the lights on. A must have. Add to your horror collection. Don't miss out on this truly Scary Movie.

I can't say I enjoy horror movies all that much, but I have a friend who does. As he wasn't able to get this version in the UK where he lives, I ordered it for him and brought it over on a trip. He's enjoyed it.

The remake doesn't hold a candle to the original. Nonetheless, it's a showstopper on my home theater system, and the steelbook is a nice touch. Recommended for horror fans.

This remake is like most horror remakes. Somethings are improved but the story is never as good as the second time around. There is an amazing sequence where a droid flys through the ghost dimension and is a must see in 3D.

I never really saw the original therefore I had nothing to compare it to. It was a good movie as far as production goes. The acting wasn't the best.

This movie was nowhere as good as the original they tried to recreate classic and failed on the cg bad with today's tech. The cg should of been way better

Poltergeist wasn't that good of a horror movie but still a good movie for those that really don't like to be scared. The original was way better.

It was nowhere as good or satisfying as the original but i had to have it on blu-ray since i needed add it to my poltergeist blu-ray collection

It's not necessarily up to participate with today's standard for horror movies but it isn't terrible.

Don't confuse this for the original like I did due to newly commissioned cover art. Mediocre film but good blu-ray presentation.

Big Sam Rockwell fan. Bought this movie because he was in it and he didn't disappoint. Don't buy the movie to be scared because you probably won't be. But it's a great far fetched story line and pretty cool all the way through.

This movie is a remake of the original. My daughter likes scary movies and liked this one, so I guess it would be better for the newer age.

it is the same plot as the original movie. They have changed the names and the gender of some of the characters but all else remains the same.

I bought this because I loved the original and of course because sam raimi directed. It moves a little too quick and there are no surprises.
