misses the mark

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited at first to try this product. unfortunately, the connectivity to my phone, especially in a car where i need it the most, is subpar at best. it also struggles to have good voice recognition and people struggle to hear me as if i am in a tunnel or sometimes not at all. i have tried it on both ears, attempted to move the microphone in tons of different places and still the results are less than desired. it is also somewhat heavy to wear on my ear for extended periods of time. i think this product, in theory, is well designed but it simply misses the mark on execution

Please rest assured the Voyager 5200 is one of our best communication devices, hence scenarios like these are very unlikely. To troubleshoot connectivity/audio issues, please reset the connection between your phone and the earpiece. To do so: https://bit.ly/2OOMfnw. If the earpiece is disconnecting during calls, this might be related to the sensors as they detect the pressure from your ear, yet there can be external factors triggering them, like being a bit loose from your ear or wearing glasses. To isolate the cause of the issue, disable the master sensor through our Hub app for Desktop: https://bit.ly/30jDXJM. Also, be sure to update the firmware version. Lastly, testing the earpiece with a different phone, at different locations and while it is paired with a single BT device is also ideal to determine the cause of the issue. Not worth the money!

People always complained that they couldn't hear me or either I sounded far away...I ended up returningthe item and exchanged for another one... not the same model but another platronics earpiece.

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to review our Voyager 5220, we are sorry to hear you experienced trouble with your unit.
You might want to try resetting the Bluetooth connection between your phone and headset to see if that helps the issue. To do so:
1. Delete the headset from your cell phone's list of paired devices.
2. Once deleted, power your phone completely off, then power it back on. This resets the Bluetooth stack in the Bluetooth software on the phone.
3. Re-pair the headset with your phone.
If this does not fix your issue, we suggest pairing the headset to another cell phone as a test. If the issue is not present on the second phone, then the problem may be with the first phone, rather than the headset. If the issue exists on the second phone as well, you will need to replace the headset.
