Posted .Hi Kathy! Thank you for your honest review on our Voyager 5220. We're sorry to hear about your experience. In order to fix this you might want to try resetting the Bluetooth connection with your phone. To do so: Delete the headset from your cell phone’s list of paired devices. Once deleted, power your phone completely off, then power it back on. This resets the Bluetooth stack in the Bluetooth software on the phone. Finally re-pair the headset with your phone. You might also want to ensure your unit's firmware is up to date by checking for updates and applying any (if available) through our Plantronics Hub software: https://goo.gl/5ceQ1v. Connect your headset powered off via USB and go to the notifications tab. If you still get the same results then most likely this unit has a problem and we need to replace it. Please note this unit has a one-year limited warranty from date of purchase. We thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will forward your comments to our team for review and consideration. Feel free to contact our Customer Care Team at: https://www.plantronics.com/us/en/support/contact if you require further assistance!

Posted .Thank you for your honest review on our Voyager 5220, we are sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble with your unit.
In order to troubleshoot connectivity or audio issues you might want to try resetting the Bluetooth connection between your phone and headset to see if that helps the issue. To do so:
1. Delete the headset from your cell phone's list of paired devices.
2. Once deleted, power your phone completely off, then power it back on. This resets the Bluetooth stack in the Bluetooth software on the phone.
3. Re-pair the headset with your phone. If this does not fix your issue, we suggest pairing the headset to another cell phone as a test.
If the issue is not present on the second phone, then the problem may be with the first phone, rather than the headset. If the issue exists on the second phone as well, you will need to replace the headset. Please don't hesitate to contact our customer care group at www.plantronics.com/support if you require assistance.

Great Bluetooth But Has Charging Issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a fan of the Plantronics Bluetooth and have used both the Legend and now the Voyager 5220 which is only sold through Best-Buy. Like the other Bluetooth devices, the Voyager 5220 performs very well with adequate volume, comfort, background noise reduction, connection, and even rapid charge works well with only 30 minutes of charge time to have a full 6 hours of talk time (the Legend provides 7 hours talk time compared to the Voyager 5220 providing 6 hours talk time). The issue I have had with ALL of them, and my co-workers and friends have had the same issue, is that the older the Bluetooth devices get, the more difficult they become to charge once the battery is low. I highly recommend getting the 2 Year Extended Replacement warranty through GeekSquad when purchasing the Bluetooth at Best-Buy for I never had one last a full 2 years before I could no longer charge the device. Once the battery gets low and the auto-attendant says "Battery Low.. Recharge Headset" it is important to recharge the device before hearing the auto-attendant repeats the request to "recharge headset". I have found that once the devices get older along with heavy usage, charging the device can become a problem if I let the power fully deplete and the device turns off. I have to switch cables and power sources while turning the device off and on until I finally do the "magic trick" that gets the device to begin charging and eventually it won't accept a charge at all. My last Voyager 5220 lasted 7 months before it stopped taking a charge and I just replaced it using the GeekSquad 2 Year Extended Replacement warranty. I find the voice quality superior to all other Bluetooth devices and put up with this flaw in hopes that Plantronics finally addresses and resolves this re-charging issue.

Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well first off I bought the legend model a week ago. Was pleased with purchase. Sales ad came out this week and the 5220 only at best buy comes with the $40 charging case for free!! So I returned the legend, spent the lil extra money for the 5220 bundle and soooooo glad I did! It fits more comfortably on my ears than the other. I believe that the voice prompts sounds A LOT better as in more human than robot. What I really really liked the most was that right out of the box, set up and pairing was a breeze, but the what amazed me was soon as I paired with my phone, downloaded the plantronics hub app, it synced to my bluetooth and then prompted me that I needed to update the firmware on device. It allowed me to update OTA from the app wirelessly to my bluetooth unlike the legend where I had to use a PC to perform the update!! So convenient that I was set up and ready to go in about 3 min before actually leaving the best buy parking lot! Oh and the charging case, its a great design as well! Plus I got it free with the purchase of the 5220 headset!!!

Good, but not worth the upgrade from a Legend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite a few folks have stated this is better than the Legend, which is currently half the price. I'm baffled as to how. Maybe people never updated their Legend to put it into Wideband (HD-Audio) mode? I've left myself voicemail using the 5220 and the Legend both in quiet environments and in very loud environments, including wind. The results are the same. Like I can't tell which is which unless I look at the timestamp. The only gains are firmware updates using your phone and plantronics hub and USB charging. I don't think those two are worth twice the current price. Once the supply of Legends gets cleaned out and prices go back up, I'd say it is worth $10 more than the Legend for the USB connector. Lastly, I'm very frustrated with Plantronics for making it just slightly different enough to not charge in the old Legend case. It fits in just fine but they angled the connector so it won't charge. Lame.

The wind noise cancelation algorithm works well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I often have to take calls while outside and wind becomes an issue. This headset does a very good job canceling out the wind noise. It is a bit heavy for a bluetooth device but it has a 7 hour battery so I am sure that is why. Definitely get the charging case, it is worth the extra money!

Really wanted to like it but couldn't
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this headset mainly for office conference calls and making phone calls while driving in the car. So the three most important things for me (in this order) are: 1. My voice quality to the listener 2. Noise cancelling (while driving and at the airports) and 3. Listener's voice quality (loudness and clarity). I was really looking forward to this headphone working well on these dimensions given the rave reviews, price tag, Plantronics' previous products and the website description/claims. I have to say that I'm quite disappointed and had to return the headsets because of the following: 1. Static noise: I have iPhone 6s and I keep getting static at my end (the listener does not hear that). This is mainly while using "HD Voice" which is basically unusable to minimize static (had to switch it off permanently). No resetting/repairing or reinstalling the Plantronics app helped. No new firmware is available currently to fix this issue 2. Loudness: The loudness of the call (at my end when others are speaking) is poor even at max volume. Especially if you are in a car etc., it sometimes is hard to hear the other person. This is a big deal as you obviously don't want to miss pieces during a crucial conference call etc. 3. Fit: I wish Plantronics will make in-ear earpieces for headphones like these. The current earpieces simply get placed on to the ear canal versus fit in. This effects the sound quality, comfort ... and the fit is wobbly versus secure On the plus side, the noise cancelling is good as the folks on the other side noticed considerable improvement in my voice/ ambient noise as I changed from my car Bluetooth to these while driving. Thanks to Best Buy for no hassle return at the store. I really wanted to have these work out but the collection of the above issues proved to be a deal breaker

Best bluetooth earpiece I've used so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Plantronics Voyager 5220! This thing is amazing! I have seen several people using and asked their input on the device. They LOVE it. Comfort: I'm a real estate agent and I can wear this several hours with no discomfort at all. At times I forget its there. Capability: This device does it all! I can listen to books in a not too noisy environment. I can answer calls just by saying answer. This works for ignoring them as well. Battery: Practically an all day battery. I do own the carrying case/charger but its rarely used. This is one of my longest lasting units when it comes to having things that use rechargeable batteries. Overall, I Love it. I have used others in the past and just dealt with the shortcomings, with this, it's hard to find things I don't like!

best Bluetooth I've had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a truck driver things get rather noisy. And just looking at your phone will get you a ticket. I've tried 4 others over the years and finally decided to try one more. This 5220 linked up to my android easily. Calls and texts no longer require picking up the phone. Battery life is good. Although the range is not what they state. I get about 35 feet towards the back of the truck. And 50 to 60 towards the front. I guess a window allows the signal to pass through easier then the steel body. I recommend this product for commercial drivers

Clear sound and comfortable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this headset for both my wife and I. We absolutely love the quality and ease of use. There is a slight learning curve the first few times used. I like the feature where if i don't have the headset on and a call comes in, I can pick up the headset to wear and the phone is answered. This is extremely so comfortable to wear that, I don't realize I am wearing it. I did purchase the hard cover charging case right away. Not to sure you would want to place these in your pocket without protection. These are highly recommended by many review sites, myself and my bride!
