Poor quality lately - Hero to Zero

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This used to be the best Bluetooth headset and I’ve been using it since it’s release and I used to recommend it to anybody and everyone I knew. I could stand next to the freight train and people on the other side would think I’m in a conference room, the call quality used to be that amazing. Ever since I received a replacement to my original headset from bestbuy, the quality has gotten terrible - I sound distant all of a sudden, people on the other side can hear all the noises around me, they can’t hear me from time to time etc. I exchanged 3 headsets and all of them now have the same problem, so I don’t think it was that device. I think it might have something to do with the Alexa integration for bestbuy? Only the 5220 seems to be having all these problems, not the original 5200. I tried getting a replacement from plantronics aka Poly, the unit worked GREAT and I was over the moon but the plastic was peeling from the previous repair because it was a reconditioned/refurbished unit so I had to send that back. Not sure what is going on but the best of the best headset which was the king of the hill has been terrible lately. Please fix as I genuinely care about the company and it’s products. With the current scenario with everyone working from home, you would think companies would try to do better and capture much of the market but the experience has been the opposite this time. My job involves a lot of calls and now I am clueless as to what to get because I am spoiled by the call quality from what this used to be. I absolutely NEVER have written a review online but I feel compelled with the hope that someone with any power in the company would read this and do something about it.

This model is one of our best communication headsets and specially engineered to deliver superior call clarity. Please note Amazon Alexa was implemented on most of our Voyager headsets like the 4200’s and 5200’s. The only difference between the 5220 and 5200 is that the former includes a Vehicle charger. Please rest assured that scenarios like these where the exact same issue takes place on consecutive units are very unlikely. To troubleshoot audio issues, please reset the BT connection: https://bit.ly/2OOMfnw Also, reset the network settings on your cell phone. To isolate the cause of the issue test the earpiece with a different cell phone while it is connected to a single Bluetooth device. Wonder product

Works great when it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used Plantronics bluetooth devices for a while. Over the past year I've noticed more issues. Some days it works other days it disconnects and when I make calls it says its connected but my iphone end ups being the default speaker. I know it's not just my phone. Happens to my mother (I bought her one too) and it also happens to my wife. All Iphone. So i tested on my fathers S5. Same problem. It's either the device or the technology. Seems like bluetooth is very easy to interfere with. Only problem is I've never had issues with any other bluetooth devices except for plantronics.

If the headset doesn't disconnect but the call audio switches to or remains on the phone instead of your headset you might want to set your iPhone's Settings>General>Accessibility>Call audio routing to Headset or Bluetooth headset. In case you have the same results this might indicate an issue with your headset's smart sensors and we recommend disabling them through our Hub app for iOS and Android by going into Settings>Smart Sensors and settings the MASTER option to off or disabled.

Voyager headset quick working after a week

It worked about a week, then the sound started crackling & breaking up during meeting, as well as during training session. I went back online and chatted with a representative, I was 1 day past the 15 day warranty and could not return it. Will have to contact company. The one I had previously worked great for about a year, then did the same thing, but much better than just working a week.

Great but poor fit for me
