Replaced 5 year old version. This one requires a specific cable to charge, therefore an extra cable to travel with. People on the call complained about poor audio quality.

Hello there! Thank you for your review on our Voyager Legend headset, however, we are sorry to hear about your experience with the headset. If people are having a hard time hearing you, you may want to try resetting the Bluetooth connection with your mobile. To do so: 1) Unpair the headset from your mobile phone by accessing your Bluetooth settings. 2) Power off your mobile phone for 2 minutes and turn it back on. 3) Re-pair the headset by pressing and holding down the call control button until you see the LED flashing red and blue. 4) Access to your Bluetooth settings and select "PLT_Legend". Once successfully paired, you will hear "pairing successful" and the LED on your headset will stop flashing red and blue. You may also want to check if the headset doesn't have any updates available through Plantronics Hub. Last but not least, we always recommend testing the headset with a different mobile to completely isolate the issue. If for some reason the issue remains, then it means the headset has an actual problem and it will be best to replace it. Remember this unit counts with a limited warranty since the first day of purchase and you can request a replacement directly through our official website. Our intention is to provide the highest quality products to our customers and we thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team at 800-985-9815 if you require assistance. plantronics

    Great for voice calls!

I've come to trust the Plantronics brand name and the Voyager Legend doesn't disappoint. Quick Points: -light -easy paring -great battery/standby time -easy to transition between left/right ear. -ease of use, however, buttons are small so a bit of a learning curve to locate and activate them easily. -easily recommend as voice only headset -stylish/high-end design As some one who owns and tests quite a few wireless headphones/earbuds of various brands, I must remind that the Voyager Legend is not that. It's primary purpose is for voice calls not media listening. So the audio is geared towards that end. I had no problem hearing anyone I talked to, but it is not a "rich" sound, it drops the bass for a clearer sound and in doing so sounds more hollow. But it took some use for this to go away as again I typically am using a headphone setup. The fit is great, light, and I always prefer the ear-clip design to bud-only design (they never stay in my ear). The ear-bud on this set does not actually go into the canal, but rests against it, so it is not designed to be noise-cancelling in that way and will also give you a greater extended use feel. The noise cancellation is quite good. Driving in a vehicle with windows down, the background sound is barely noticeable from what I am told only when I am speaking. In comparison my vehicle built-in bluetooth I cannot have the window down nor the vent fan on medium or higher or it is constant background sound. When no background noise is available the call as no feedback during my speaking portion. To be clear, what background noise was available during the calls, the persons on the other end did not find it distracting from the conversation. I can highly recommend this product if you are seeking out voice call only device as it is designed just for that. If you are in a noisy environment consistently, it may not be adequate, but I would have to think given my experience with vehicle use and windows down there is some toleration of what the background noise environment you would be using it in. Wind sound is constant, where backgrounds with varying sounds maybe harder to cancel out, but it is good to know that the sound only comes through when the user is speaking. If you are hoping to pull double duty of both a voice and media tool, I would recommend any other Plantronics wireless headphone setup. The trade off is not as good background noise capabilities that the Voyager Legend has as they are designed for media consumption. So really think of your needs there. This has a sweatproof rating with technology from by P2i. I did not find an IP rating anywhere on the box or in the included material. Plantronics for quality and value is the brand I recommend the most to anyone asking. Throughout the years of using bluetooth devices I have found myself returning to them time and again. I only gave it a 4 star rating as 5 means it is perfect and that is hard for anything. However, I always deduct a star when a device that needs to be charged does not come with a wall charger; this has become and an industry standard and it burns me just a bit. Especially when the "user warnings" included language that voids warranties against using a charger that was not included with the device or to follow proper charging times, etc. In this case, this is the first device that while it states to only use the charger included with the device, which it does not come with, that also only use the charger that came with your mobile device. So in short only use OEM chargers. That at least is something. There is no information on the input/output currents recommended, just don't charger when wet or out of temperature ranges typical of most devices that require charging. The charging cable is extremely short, ~8 inches and also made it easy to warrant the 1 star deduction. Also this typically means the device is to be charged by computer usb port. Which is typically only 500mAh. The charging status is a little awkward, when connecting it lights up blue and flashes 3 times then a 10 second pause and flashes 3 times again. I have never found issue NOT recommending because of this as it just become industry standard. However, those other devices come with a case to keep the headphones in and that doubles as the charging device and power bank for charging. The Voyager Legend has an accessory that is advertised in the packaging that is a case/power bank that is 40% the cost of the MSRP of the standalone mic set, that's not bad. Being used to having bluetooth headphones with this included (at higher price points) I will definitely be purchasing that accessory. The charging port is a proprietary kind and magnetic which makes it easy to make sure it makes good contact. But traveling I can see this easily getting damaged over time throwing in a bag etc. So the charging case is really a good accessory to have here if the device will not be sitting on a desk all the time. I would like to see a combo unit with the headset and case/power bank included. The packaging design suggests that this may be possible as there is a large void I've tried to hit all the points over the past two-ish weeks of use. Included in the box is the device, charging cable, replacement ear tips of different size, and foam covers.

Hi Tedd and thank you for sharing your feedback. However; we're sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your Voyager Legend. The Voyager 5200 is indeed an upgraded version of the Legend, which was released a few years after the Legend. The 5200 is a Bluetooth Class 1 device, while the Legend is a Class 2, which means it should provide up to 33ft of wireless range (within a straight line of sight). Of course, density can also influence the performance of wireless range, especially in big cities where there can be a significant number of active users within an area in which their wireless Bluetooth communication devices are sharing the same radio spectrum. We will forward your comments to our team for review and consideration. If you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team at: 1-855-765-7878. plantronics

Not sure if this was new, the headset had scratch marks on it. Had mine for less than 2 weeks, it stop working and when it did work, it would disconnect from the phone and it did mot announce the contact name. I've had this product before, kept it for 3 years before I had any issues. So I know how it should function and I love this product and since I have not had it for 14 days, I will be returning this one in exchange for a new one. I think this particular one was just bad.

Been using it for my job for over a week now, and I can say this is a piece of garbage! Not sure if their quality has taken a dump or what, because they used to be better quality years ago. It connects and disconnects throughout the day, and the sound quality is horrible. I would compare it to talking through a tin cans linked to a string as far as sound is concerned. It looks great, and is easy to charge, but I guess if you use a new iPhone pared with it, good luck! Would not recommend this product to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback on our Voyager Legend. Was the headset purchased brand new? Did the packaging present any tear or evident tampering? Please rest assured that we take the quality of our products very seriously, and scenarios like these are very unlikely. As you may know, the Voyager Legend features Triple-mic active Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Stainless steel windscreens, Acoustic fabric mesh designed to block and cancel noise and wind. To troubleshoot it, please reset the network settings on your cell phone and reset the BT connection. To do so: https://bit.ly/2OOMfnw. Lastly, please test the earpiece with a different cell phone model. If you're currently using iPhone, try testing with an older iOS version or with android, as this will help to isolate the cause of the issue, as we've had users in the past with Bluetooth issues when using iPhone: https://apple.co/3vb5gnj. In any case we will forward your comments to our team for review and consideration. Please note this model comes with a one-year limited warranty. The things that I like: So far, I'm quite happy with the Voyager Legend Headset. It was easy to set up the bluetooth, easily charged, the controls are functional, and the quality of both the microphone and the speaker seem pretty high. All-in-all, I am very happy with the purchase. Improvable things: I really dislike proprietary chargers. I would really rather use readily available charging cables. That being said, the Voyager Legend's cable is neat. I just worry about needing it and not having it available. The controls, while functional, take some getting used to. And I can't always remember which button does what. As I age, this will only become more of a problem.
