Story gets really slow about 2/3rds of the way in. I liked it better when I was a kid seeing anime for the first time. Still is a good film, just not quite as good as a Miyazaki classic

I love Studio Ghibli movies. This story is bring the audience awareness to the big problem for all of nature to survive human encroachment.

This was a good movie, a little winding the story flat-lined for a while but I'm happy I got it to add to my collection.

This anime has a great story like all the studio ghibli films, I highly recommend you buy or at least watch them all. You will not be disappointed in any of the films. All their films are great for kids and adults alike. The wonderful colors and the characters keep the children amused while the plots keep the adults on the egde of their seats. A must have to any family movie night.

not one of my favorite, but still a sends great message Pom Poko (1994) As the human city development encroaches on the raccoon population's forest and meadow habitat, the raccoons find themselves faced with the very real possibility of extinction. In response, the raccoons engage in a desperate struggle to stop the construction and preserve their home.

So this is an interesting movie. It's kinda dark and kinda funny. The plot kind of goes on and you're not really sure there's going to be a happy ending. The animation is as usual beautiful. It's very steeped in Japanese culture and the concept of nature vs civilization/technology.

The art style alone sucked me in, but you really can't go wrong buying a movie made by the legendary Studio Ghibli. Pom Poko is lesser known in American circles, but every kid who has played Super Mario Bros. 3 can tell you what a tanuki is!
