She said it helps to keep her from dropping the phone so I am all for that. Don't put it on the phone itself...put it on the back of a case.

Otherwise it honestly sucks especially with the car mount. One of the reasons I had purchased the pop grip was to use it with my pop socket care mount and it was horrible. The pop socket for some reason would never sit flush and caused my phone to constantly sag when on the car mount. As a way to help you hold your phone it does the job, but compare to a normal pop socket it's lack luster.

Works very well, stays on tight, and helps her to be able to hold the phone better, as she has small hands for her iPhone XR. Got it for $10, decent price.
