The most recent ones I've had, had plastic pieces or the adhesive itself fail. Now I do not see an advantage of getting one instead of a generic one.

One tough pop socket!

It's tough enough to hang on in extreme cold, and definitely does exactly what it was designed to do. It has been put to the test in numerous environments. Has certainly helped me hang onto the phone when there is no time to fumble around with it.
