Does not hold as well on bare phone - which is why they don't recommend it. The pop grip does get uncomfortable if you have larger hands.

So I purchased this one and LOVE that it's strong enough to hold on to the phone but easy enough to take off for charging.

But my iPhone 14 Pro Max (with otter box’s heavy duty protective case) is too heavy and the pop socket can’t work as a stand but that’s not an issue for me
